In the wake of Ghost In The Shell and the Netflix Death Note, adapting a lesser-known work seems more likely to satisfy anime fans. Eventually someone's going to figure out how to do it right.

Interesting choice though.

Whether or not it will see a release date, this is actually a Japanese franchise that seems ideal for Hollywood. Given that post-apocalyptic stories can be box-office hits, this is ideal for a future summer release. Now, the issue of possible white-washing can arise if there are characters that are Asian. However, I think more people would be concerned with the visual effects and action vs. the ethnicities of possible actors/actresses.

This won't end well if it's Hollywood thing. Sounds great as a plot, but i rather see it as Anime.

I don't really have a problem with this. It can be good if it's in the hands of good people. What they should also do is put some Japanese characters in there to honor it's origins. I know this is contrary to what a lot of people think but Hollywood does have good directors and has made good movies before. They can do it again. I don't have a problem with Hollywood doing this. Others might but I don't.
