Good. This needed to be rectified.

Wow if I remember correctly, there were some people on here that were worried about that distributer handling this movie because of problems that occurred in the past with another series. If this is keeps happening, how are able to continue about being distributer and taking on series?
I'm glad I waited before buying the movie if that's the case. For me, it was just a responsibility thing and I have other things to buy first thing. |

What I'm curious about is whether or not people who put off purchasing the disc (or in my case, returned it until a fix is issued) will have to wait much longer to get the fixed discs. I was disappointed by the fact that I didn't get the package I was promised, and reached out to LionsGate only to be told that the replacements were available to United States residents only. Due to this, I initiated a return with Amazon Canada.
To avoid picking a side in the sub vs. dub flame war, I would like to remind everybody that the Blu-Ray/DVD promised both language versions. Many fans in North America do not speak Japanese, so having accurate subtitles matters for them. Personally, I saw the dub and enjoyed it thoroughly, and was excited at the prospect of hearing the original version as well on the blu-ray. I hope that the issue can be rectified for future fans as well |

DSOD's American dub was full of unnecessary jokes and changes to the point it was almost a gag dub. Yu-Gi-Oh's dub has always been like that along with massive cuts and changes in America,so you shouldn't be surprised when most people get upset that a rare sub release is botched. |

Meanwhile they still have done nothing to fix Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex's Blu-ray issues...

Canada is being locked out despite us not getting some gray market import.

It's absolutely killing me that I can't bring myself to buy those despite loving the hell out of the series. Just how incompetent does a company have to be to not acknowledge the fact that their release switches audio languages at random? |

Okay, but the question is how do people like me who refused to buy the initial release due to lack of subtitles get these new discs? Do I have to buy the subtitle-less release and then ask for a replacement disc via email? Is there some time limit after which they will no longer being providing replacements? Will later pressings of the release be fixed? How can we tell the corrected discs from the uncorrected ones before we buy? These are important questions! I would really like to support this movie with official subtitles, and I would prefer to not have to do it by getting the UK BD that is not region A.

I honestly loved the film although the cliffhanger at the end made me wanting more do you think there will be a problem making a sequel too where the film ended?

This could have been the start of LionsGate's redemption arc, only for them to make the same sort of mistakes as last time. If they don't shape up fast, their anime branch will never take off.
Sad thing is, places like the UK released it with no problems. This is an issue only with the American release.
Your best bet is to buy a flawed disc and email them about a replacement. They did say future printings will have the issue corrected, but they haven't mentioned a way to tell the original and fixed printings apart. :/ |
