Twas expected. But with the direction and the quality of the series after where the anime left off, I'm not excited. Such a disappointment imo.

Finally an end to all those "September 2017" rumours. I guess it's gonna be around 60 episodes, based on around 120 chapters to animate.

All seriousness though, cool for the ones that wanted it. I'll be watching too in the vain hopes that the final arcs will be better much more bearable animated. |

I'm more of a manga fan than an anime fan when it comes to this series, but this final arc had a lot of stuff that will honestly look better in animated form, so this is very exciting news.

2018 means there should be quite a bit of pre production! Nice. FUNi SimulDub is almost guaranteed given they were able to do Zero. Fairy Tail manga maybe the ending but the hype will continue!!!

Honestly, I could see them rushing it and making it a 24 episode final season. There's no manga to promote anymore and it seems they're just doing this so that it has an ending. Anyway, I'm not excited - the last two arcs (Avatar and Alvarez) are pretty terrible and it'd take a miracle for the anime to make 'em good - they're that bad. |

I really love Fairy Tail so im very happy that its finally confirmed that the anime will return and that the entire series will be included in the anime.
I was really worried that the same thing was going to happen to the Fairy Tail anime that happened to the Bleach anime that the final arc never gets animated. I hope the colors and the animation will be more like the old Fairy Tail episodes and that it wont be like the 2014 episodes but im still extremely we are getting more episodes at all of course. That the anime gets finished will make it way easier to move on after Fairy Tail is over and its time to say good bye to the great and lovable characters and the world forever. If only these arcs the anime were going to be adapting were quality. But, perhaps I'll check it out for nostalgias sake. Although, it's already been hard enough getting through the manga.
I'm happy for avid fans of the anime though. |

I actually liked the 2014 animation, it matched the darker tone of the series. The Blu-rays looked really good. |

It will be nice to finally see the rest of the series. It isn't my favorite shonen but I like the anime well enough.

Oh man, so much nostalgia keeps getting thrown at me. FMA's getting a live-action movie, D.Gray-man's getting released this year, and now FT's getting another anime?!
Not surprised this is happening though. I'm not really sure if I'd watch it week to week like I did with the 2014 series. Hopefully they don't stretch the arcs out (I don't want a repeat of the Tartaros arc. They stretched that out to death.), and proceed with them as they were in the source material. To me at least, the first half of the series was much more enjoyable than the second. Maybe this anime can make the Alvarez arc work? (Bring back the magic circles!  )

Sorry but i did not think the look of the 2014 episodes were as nice and enjoyable as on the old episodes and i hated the new darker colors and it made it feel like some of the charm of the old episodes was lost and the animation was not as good as on the old episodes too. The 2014 episodes were still great of course but i hope the final season will be more like the old episodes. |
