That is probably one of the most tone deaf and insensitive statements I've read in a while.

This guy sounds like a heartless jerk, blaming the victim. Shame on him.

I can understand the sentiment, working in entertainment requires a lot of care with pr, but I'm not sure most people in entertainment are expecting carelessness to lead to a violent stabbing. It's easy to twist what he said into "she had it coming" and I think it would be better to wait a good while before making this kind of statement.

This guy is an irrelevant troll who mostly enjoys attention and making other people unhappy, more than anything. He's made 'jokes' about sexually harassing voice actresses and was fired from KyoAni for something similar. I really wish Anime News Network would stop reporting on him every time he opens his mouth.

Well, that's horrendously insensitive and horrendously misogynist. I wish him no good fortune

I love how he stepped in some many toes by just stating a fact.

Thank goodness I never saw a Yamakan anime and I never will.

He has some points I agree, but way too soon to say anything in my opinion.

It's not a fact. Victim blaming is not factual.

The phrase "You're not wrong, you're just an asshole!" comes to mind. Yes, returning a gift looks bad, but it's completely irrelevant in this matter. I don't care if she persoanlly insulted him on national TV, she hold absolutely no blame for being STABBED.

But remember that Yamakan does anything he can to stay relevant.

Yeah sure, it's certainly correct to make an assumption that "mistreating" a fan will lead to a fatal attack. The guy could have easily lied about it just to somehow justifies his action. In any case, blaming the victim is just the stupid thing to do and he certainly did that.

What a moron Rolling Eyes . Once you say that then you can say anything "it's not nice to not reply to someone on Twitter as an idol, you made a mistake" and whatnot.

His wife needs to slap him, knock some sense into this man for this comment. He should know better being a creator of an idol anime even worse, one of the darkest in the industry and second darkest to air on TV (Idol Memories is darker than WUG.
