Looking forward to the movie. Just hope it isn't some compilation film and actually continues the events that unfolded in the last series. The way they ended it was mean.
Quote: | The first television anime premiered in 2013, followed by the second in 2014 and the third last July. |
This looks to be a copy and paste from a previous article and was correct then, but last July would refer to 2016 now since it is 2017. So it should be changed to say the third series was in 2015.

But there was four seasons: first (Summer 2013), 2wei (Summer 2014), 2wei Herz (Summer 2015), and 3rei (Summer 2016).

It's not. The teaser strongly suggests that this is the adaptation of the parallel world Shirou flashback arc.

Good to know. While I had some issues with 3rei, I do think a movie makes sense here. For the material they are going to cover a film could be a really good. Film quality for that material could be a huge hit.
All we can do is wait and see though.

I know that there are four seasons, never said otherwise and is also stated in the article. But they way the article is written now makes it sound like 2wei Herz was in 2016. When someone says "last July" right now in 2017, one would think of July 2016 which would be incorrect since 2wei Herz is 2015 as you have stated. They seem to have copied and pasted the bottom part of the article from a previous article about the film which was written last year, see the link in the article. At that point in time saying "last July" would refer to July 2015 which was correct then, but incorrect now. I hope that clears up what I was trying to say.
I sure hope it is the parallel world Shirou flashback arc. But you never know until they confirm it. I have been let down before from other anime announcing a film only for it to turn out to be a compilation film.
Edit: It was fixed. Nice job on following up ANN.

Anything is possible, but I'd be surprised if that isn't what the movie is about. Considering the poster and teaser they released I can't see it being anything else. I mean the busted and worn down twin swords, the Emiya theme, the moon which has some significance to that flashback, etc. It all points to the flashback arc.
I don't think it would make any sense for a compilation film to be made. I can understand being hesitant from past experiences, but I don't see anything here to give cause for concern. All the previous seasons ended announcing the next step forward in the story and that next part makes sense for a movie adaptation.
The bigger question I think is how long of a wait it will realistically take for a 3rei part 2. With the manga being monthly it could be a fair wait.

With the optimism it's safe to assume that it will be not before the summer season of 2018. Prisma Illya have the real stability with it's date of releases being on the summer seasons for years (and it seems that the movie will not break that "tradition" with going to the cinema in the summer), but with the good chunk of material going to the movie, it will be not enough material to create a new season in this year.
