Having grown up watching "Star Blazers" during all of its Glorious "Argo"-nauted run on American television when I was a wee lad, I have now become an even Bigger fan upon rewatching Yamato 2199 in the lead up to this New series, that is effectively remaking "The Comet Empire" Series 2 -which is my Favourite!
Having repurchased (since VHS) and watched Series 1 prior (to compare old & new), I'm about to repurchase Series 2 to fill the gap and build Hype until 2202's release. I've Never been this Excited since the originals, to the point where I've become a Super fan!! I'm just Deeply concerned about the 2202 Blu-rays coming in March that are Still listed as Not having subtitles... Why change it from how they did things for 2199's release? (I Only purchased the Japanese editions, and only want Those) Could this be Voyager Entertainment's doing?? —What are fans in English speaking countries, who anxiously await the new series going to do if this is true? σ( Last edited by Mike Ferguson on Sat Jan 07, 2017 10:19 pm; edited 1 time in total |

It should also be noted that Zordar, Gatlantis Emperor, has also been cast, being voiced by Hideaki Tezuka. This was also a new announcement, along with the first artwork of the character other than some teasers Nobuteru Yuuki posted on Twitter ages ago.
In response to Mike Ferguson, keep in mind the English subtitles were announced less than a month before the first chapter of 2199 was released in cinemas. It may not be announced until then this time as well. Hopefully, the discs will have them, but at the same time it's a distinct possibility that they won't. Shoji Nishizaki has said in past Ship's Log (Official Yamato Crew journal) interviews that international releases will be "soon after". However there's been no details about what form they'll take, when they'll be available, or what languages they'll offer. |

Custom Blu-ray reauthoring to add fansubs, of course. All it takes is a computer with a BD disk drive and the right software. (Oh, and fansubs have to exist first... bummer...) I guess chances of this getting streamed eventually some place like CrunchyRoll are pretty low? |

Going by the interviews with Producer Shoji Nishizaki, overseas release of 2199 and 2202 combined should be "soon" after 2202 starts in Japan. Whether that actually comes to fruition is another matter. |

That "legendary goddess" description in the article could also describe Maetel. She is 1 of the most noted Leijiverse characters and is a goddess in the beauty sense

This isn't the Leijiverse. Neither Matsumoto nor his Harlock/Galaxy Express characters have any involvement in the 2199 universe. They don't have any place in the canon Yamato universe either. |
