In a way, Jinsei was an eye-opening anime for me in terms of my own taste. Before watching the first episode I had assumed I'd eat up any slice of life show with a predominately female cast employing a moe aesthetic. Jinsei ended up being the first such show I dropped after one episode. Good to know I didn't miss out on anything, I guess

I also dropped Jinsei after one episode, but mainly because I was already watching plenty of other shows that season which filled my gag comedy/cute girls slot.
I do recall there being one gag that made me laugh the first episode. Someone was asking advice because they didn't know which club to join and one of the girls said to create a 'Unsure Club' for people who weren't sure about what they wanted to do. Then a little scenario played out with someone wanting to join the unsure club but not being sure they wanted to. That did get a chuckle out of me, so I was curious if there was something more to Jinsei, but with this review it doesn't seem like I should pick it up to see the rest.

I've slowly been coming around to the realization that not every slice-of-life will do it for me. Then again, that happens whenever I get into a new genre. I'll watch practically anything that fits, and then realize that a lot of it isn't very good.
I was a bit curious about this show, but between hearing next to no buzz about it, and the fact that Funimation opted not to dub it, I decided to keep working on my backlog.

I watched this when it aired cos I'm fan of SoL/comedy/moe stuff, but yea, Jinsei is nothing to write home about, just mediocre show all around. Except one thing, opening and ending song, which, to me, are exceptionally good and were one of the best of the season and are, really, the only thing I remember from this show

I'm not sure I even lasted the entire first episode. Kudos to Nick for wading through the whole thing. The life of a reviewer is clearly not all hookers and free cocaine.

I watched about half of Jinsei but ultimately just stopped watching because the whole series was what any other series would have as its "B" plot while the "A" plot moved forward with each episode... Love SNAFU would be a great example... of what Jinsei could never be in the first place: character driven. So let's just say Medaka Box. Minus quite a few things that Medaka has...
It wasn't the worst show of its type of I've seen or even the least memorable. I mean any sort of superlative, either good or bad, would be too much for this show. Also, there's far worse shows that Funny did dub so that's not much of a yardstick these days.
I'd still rather watch more of this than Otaku Teacher. That's some sort of positive, right?
