Can we please confiscate the franchise from Kajishima? I know he created it originally, but after that third OVA, he doesn't deserve to helm it.
Also, how is it that Tenchi is getting whiter? That kid used to have a farmer's tan.

Since serialized OVAs have fallen out of fashion over the last decade, it would be cool to see this done as a television series.

After the train wrecks of GXP and OVA 3, was anyone really clamoring for more from this franchise zombie?

To be honest I'm just delighted to see AIC are still alive.

Was the fandom at large lukewarm on these? Personally, I enjoyed them more than any of the works outside of the Kajishima canon.

I found GXP to be a far, far better investment in time than the third OVA. Actually, GXP, with some tweaking, really should have been what that third OVA was instead of that pile of defamatory garbage that was actively hostile towards the original two OVAs.
The moment I see Noike or any of those other worthless characters added in OVA 3, I'm out. It looks like they're adding yet more. Whatever happened to Ryoko and Ayeka? Would it kill them to have the key visual include the two characters we actually watch Tenchi for?
I wonder what new personality-starved characters they can add to this cast to waste our time like Noike did? Don't forget a villain who's a huge nothing!

I'm literally watching Ryo-Ohki 3 right now. Honestly, I'm hoping this gets canceled or it turns out to be an amazing masterpiece of outstanding proportions. Tenchi should just rest in peace, not be kept on this awful life support.

GXP is the only show to air on Toonami that head programmer Jason DeMarco actively admitted buyers remorse for. He swore afterwards Tenchi would never air on Toonami again.
That and the show is at the same level of franchise zombie as CSI.

Though that was primarily because it wasn't nearly as action-y as the episodes he test-watched led him to believe. But I guess some of the more repetitive "comedy" soured him on the series also.

I honestly didn't want this to happen. I liked the way the 3rd OVA ended so i had no regrets and I cant just brush this off and not watch it like ima do the new seasons of FLCL cause this series(at least the OVAs,universe and Tokyo ) have a special place in my heart as being the first harem i loved to sit down and watch. All i can hope for is that it keeps that old tenchi feel(I didn't care for the others mainly do to the different cast but i found gxp to be a little funny, never touched ai tenchi muyo)

Oh dear his last attempts to kill the franchise didn't work, so he is going to try again.

As long as Tenchi and Ryoko hook up, I don't care. I just want to see those two become canon.
