Honestly, it looks pretty good. If the movie sucks, it's not going to be because of bad directing, not the dreaded "whitewashing".

The anime will always be there for people to enjoy, and there will likely be a reboot movie in our lifetime so just let it happen and give it a chance to be its own thing.

They just put up two more. Looks ok I guess, not enough footage for me to form a real opinion.

They certainty got the art direction of it down. I'll wait for a trailer though.

There are actually 5 videos here. The first one links to a playlist with all of them.

I was right to believe that Scarlett is a great choice to portray The Major. To hell with the people who accuse the producers for "whitewashing", when I saw those 5 teaser videos I cannot help but smile. Now granted, I didn't have very high hopes for the movie and I only cared about how well the actors would perform but now these teasers truly made me anticipate this film! I LOVE how the Major looks, the guy playing Aramaki in the 4th teaser looks good (though his character isn't known for killing anyone, what are the writers trying to do?), and the visuals from what I've seen look great! My only hope is that the script and the directing is solid enough for the movie to live up to our expectations. As a huge GitS I am impressed with the art direction and I sincerely hope this movie does not flop. (By the way there are actually 5 teaser films....you might want to fix that)

I agree It looks a lot better than I expected any live action on an Anime. Style, Art, and even Scarlett as The Major all look actually quite amazing.... That being said the story and actual characters I have a bad feeling will play out horrible. Guess we just wait an see.

Expect a full trailer soon, everyone! (they did the same thing with The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

Beautifully said, my friend.

I'm reserving judgment until I can actually see the film or hear about it from those I trust, but so far I think these teasers show promise.

I am very impressed by the tone and atmosphere shown in these trailers. I'm hesitantly looking forward to this.

I was initially very cynical towards this movie as GITS is one of my top favorite anime of all time but I have to admit to being rather impressed by it. They seem to have captured the spirit of GITS not perfectly but about as well as you can expect from a Hollywood take on it. I feel like I'll have to see an actual trailer to really judge it, especially with the rest of the cast involved. The music definitely sounds a lot like Kenji Kawai's original soundtrack from the Oshii films and I loved they remade classic moments straight from the anime in this. I'm definitely feeling more optimistic to this now and am more willing to give it a chance but I still have concerns. My biggest concern is the Major looks almost too robot. She's an android but she's supposed to be indistinguishable from a human and she looks a little too stiff in some of this.

Hard to tell off those clips. It does seem that they paid attention to some of the details from the original movie. Everything from how she's dressed to the scene of her waking up with the city in the background. Some of the sets looked a little cheap though, but again these are very short clips so it can be hard to judge. I look forward to a full trailer and am willing to give this a chance. Here's hoping they don't screw it up too much.

I know the geisha clip is supposed to justify "Look, it's Japanese!", but just so long as it's not supposed to be a homage to GITS2.
