I thought Chris patton was one of those Texas only VA's, that's surprising to see him in this

And J. Michael Tatum's one of the writers - what's with the Texas talent? |

Well the new cast additions are nice, but I'm definently not happy about J. Micheal Tatum being one of the head writers. Not a fan of his "style" and I'm not sure how much free reign he'll be given here. Of course I already put down my money for the Kickstarter so I guess I just have to hope the worst doesn't happen...

One day my dream of hearing J Michael Tatum and Crispin Freeman in the same anime won't be a dream! Haha Really loving this cast and can't wait to finally see some full length clips and finally get to watch this series once the sets are ready to be shipped! Too bad about the delay but it's nice to see them allow new backers. As someone who backed when the campaign was originally opened I don't mind at all that they are open again or do I feel slighted in the least. Pied Piper is doing an amazing job with this kickstarter and if it means more success for Ann/this release I'm more then happy for it! Plus the hardworking dub team/cast deserves every bit of it and the hint of more dub bonus materials in the works has me excited!

I gotta say that Ann at Pied Piper has been absolutely amazing. The official campaign ended 5 months ago and the comments section is still go strong because she posts mini-updates there all the time and there's so much enthusiasm in the Skip Beat! backer community, which I attribute to Ann's very inclusive (she's always soliciting opinions) and open communication style. Yeah, I know I'm coming across as a fanboy, but she's earned it!

Taliesin Jaffe is the ADR Director?! HALLELUJAH!
Also, it's becoming increasingly apparent that Bang Zoom is outsourcing their adaptive scriptwriting to FUNimation. Caitlin Glass worked on Love Live!, Josh Grelle on MSG: Iron Blooded Orphans, Joel McDonald on Hunter X Hunter, Mike McFarland on One Punch Man, and now J. Michael Tatum on Skip Beat. Has this always been a thing and I'm just now noticing it, or...? |

Caitlin has done quite a bit of work for California, though it's mostly for video games. |

Hopefully J.Michael Tatum's co-writer will keep him in check. One only has to look at Free: Eternal Summer to find out why some don't like his writing method...

Yeah, can't say I'm that thrilled over Tatum being a lead writer. Hopefully Ann and Jaffe will keep him in check.

Tatum as a VA? Top tier talent. As a scriptwriter? He's not as bad as Saban or 4kids, but his writing is not good. Dubs should aim to have "accurate" scripts. Not too liberal. Not too literal. Literal dubs can work. Geass, Akira 2001, Fate/Zero, etc., but they should have a balance.

I'm also pleased with that director choice. I've never disliked a Jaffe dub. I was also a little surprised to see Chris Patton's name on there, but then again, the bulk of his work lately comes from Sentai, so he probably decided to branch out. As for the script writing, I think that is something that is fairly recent. I hadn't paid it much mind when I saw Caitlin Glass as a writer for Love Live since she was also cast in the show, and I know she travels to do video games, but I think Bang Zoom is making use of the fact that script adaptation doesn't require the person to be around the studio. |

Also Garo, he took over for the second half of that dub and the script apparently took a turn for the worse. |

Having another writer working alongside him would definitely... ameliorate the situation. As long as it fits the flaps and the editors think it's fine, though... |

Those scripts weren't that bad, actually. It's noticeable, but not distractingly so, mostly because of the setting. But yeah, I have NO idea what ameliorate means, so why would he think a normal person would? Not everyone is "smart" like you, Tatum. |

Surely you jest! With the Firefox and Chrome browsers (May the goddesses help you if you're using Internet Explorer!) highlight the word, right-click the highlighted portion and select "search". |
