Reboot, please be a reboot. No offense but it's one of the few that I believe deserve one. They don't have to change the existing material, just modernize it with some "new" animation.

This franchise does get a decent amount of stage plays, so I'll write it off as one of those.
If they did make a new anime, I'd hope they would ignore certain decisions they made previously. Just adapt directly. It's not like the changes they made improved the storytelling or provided any resolution. And hopefully make it look nice. Saiyuki Gaiden looked pretty bad, and that was an OVA series. |

Saiyuki remains my favorite manga series of all time, so I'm just going to sit here and flail until we find out what the announcement is.
Anime reboot. Monthly serialization. English-language license rescue (a girl can dream). |

I thought Gaiden was beautiful, not as pretty as burial but true to the way Minekura is currently drawing the boys. I have ALL the Saiyuki artbooks to see the way her style has grown over the years is a joy!

Minekura was talking about a trailer being streamed in Shibuya,shops & youtube the 25 july 
"Saiyuki 20th anniversary serie"
