Looks like the audio file is missing. From the RSS feed:
Code:
enclosure type="audio/mpeg" url="http://animenewsnetwork.com/images/cms/anncast/103086/anncast262.mp3" length="28981282"

That file gives me the 404 page (BTW, hi Nina!)

EDIT: Never mind, fixed now.

Thank you so much for the podcast, I highly enjoyed it. Loved getting all the details about translations to how Kitaro came to be translated here. Listening to how Zack Davisson go it into Mizuki's wok and the process of where he is today was awesome, great insight. He's given so much information to the English yokai community through his translations. I wanted to mention I believe I went to that Yokai exhibit he mentioned in 2014, in Osaka, but I wasn't allowed pictures and I wish I could've understood more Japanese. Can't wait for Zack's other books I've already got Yurei Smile

I'm glad to see Mizuki's work come over here for everyone to read. Look forward to more!

I didn't think we'd get any of Mizuki's series meant for kids but I'm glad Drawn and Quarterly decided to publish and continue putting out Kitaro material. Of course I'd like to see Kappa no Sanpei and Akuma kun also get releases except the last one is probably really iffy what with it being aimed at kids and also dealing with Western occult themes like demonology.

Highly enjoyable especially enjoyed the part dealing with Translation and the human element versus the mechanical aspect of it. That translation should be a human endeavor the second you let it be run by machines without people would I feel be the death of art.

Also great to hear about Mizuki's work as I'm not that familiar although oddly enough my Mom who teaches at a Parochial School in Maryland used some of his stories from GeGeGe no Kitarō in her class.

That was interesting to hear about Satoshi Kon's blog. I imagine he would be pissed about the theft of his films. Pretty upsetting stuff. Darren Aronofsky was probably the one he was referring to with the shot for shot bathtub scene. I thought he actually bought the rights for Perfect Blue for that one though.

I also went to that yokai exhibit in Osaka in 2014. Great stuff, the staff were surprised Westerners were attending.

I've just finished the Birth of Kitaro volume and can say I found it the best collection in English of the Kitaro stories I have read to date.

Thanks for the comments and support! I really enjoyed doing this interview. Not only for the chance to chat with Zac, but we also got into some interesting questions that I don't normally get asked.

I almost fell out of bed hearing about the JET suicides. WOW

GeGeGe no Kitaro is fun, didn't realize it was out here.
