I've just finished reading it this evening, and the review basically is how I thought of it. I liked how understated and matter of fact Suzumura was about things, and how all the kids quietly but desperately hoped to be normal again.

I love the choice to use a full stop in the title. The Gods Lie, period, has a nice, declarative oomph to it. Kudos to whoever at Vertical decided to go with that.

The title is also shown in all lower case, which is a nice touch.

Ooh, this sounds like something I would really enjoy, and I have a soft spot for Immortal Rain, despite it's unfinished status. ^^;

Great review. And, personally, reading through this manga...I was kind of expecting the reveal to be a lot darker (well, it is pretty dark) than what it is. I won't say what I was expecting, but it is darker to me than what they went with.

The thing that surprised me most was my reaction to the reveal of spoiler[Rio's dad having been in the same town the whole time, and then acting like he doesn't know his own kids]. That actually hit me a lot harder than I thought it would've, and really made me feel disgusted.

Did not know this was licensed. Excuse me while I rush to add it to my shopping wish list. I wish Kaori Ozaki puts out more series. Everything I've read from her have been gems.

Actually, the original Japanese title includes a period, so it wasn't really an original feat of ingenuity on Vertical's part. I do agree that it's a nice touch though.

Side note: How about rescuing Meteor Methuselah, eh Vertical? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
