I love Funko's ability to turn ugly characters cute. DBZ was the first anime to mess me up good, specifically Majin Buu turning into chocolate or however that went (been a long time), and his vinyl here is by far the cutest Crossing my fingers they'll give us an AOT series 2 wave soon.

I've never liked these figures. They don't look pretty at all.

The Hot Topic exclusive Sailor Moon one is already out - spotted it at my HT store two days ago. She looked cute in person, although I'd only buy her for Luna.

I collect these figures. For anime, I already have Eren Jeager, Natsu and Happy from Fairy Tail, and Naruto and Sasuke. I plan on getting a couple Sailor Moon ones I hope...my HT just closed

I don't think I'll ever understand the popularity of these POP! figures. This cookie-cutter vinyl fad has me a bit baffled.

I mostly agree, but somehow I do like the look of the Sailor Moon ones enough to get them.

Personally I prefer Nendoroids they cost more but are well worth it especially in the cuteness department.

I think much of the appeal lies in just how wide the POP! line dips into. I remember seeing vendors at Frank & Son Collectible Show having walls literally 8 or 9 feet tall and about 50 feet long lined entirely with POP! stuff.
Nintendo is one of the last holdouts; I have not seen any Nintendo characters given the POP! treatment whereas almost everything else associated with geekdom has.
As for vinyl figures that have similar looks, I'm not really sure how they got so popular, but I do remember Disney doing it extensively at about the same time POP! got started, and Disney marketed it heavily. My best guess is that it's so you can have figures of characters from a variety of different franchises but have them look like they belong together. In the case with POP!, you can have characters from The Walking Dead next to characters from Frozen without either of them clashing with each other.
That, and Funko gets to be in a lot of mystery boxes.

Being a fan of chibi forms and nendoroids, I like Pops. Plus, they'll give me characters that I'll never seen in nendoroid form.
Only one here I'm interested in is Tuxedo Mask. May get him and Sailor Moon.
Kinda wish they released a SSJ Vegeta...
And, I'd say one of the only properties that I have interest in, that hasn't become a Pop, would be Mortal Kombat. I think that characters like Sub Zero and Scorpion would look pretty good in Pop form.

Cheap, ugly and reminds me of Mr. Potato Head. But since Funko has to ability to flood the market with this crap I guess it has eventually found an audience.

I understand that Funko's PV figures have found their audience, but I just can't get over how off-putting their heads look.

I love Sailor Moon, and I love POP figures... but these are awful. Somehow the proportions seem really off, the bodies are too skinny.
