Is it just me, or does Velvet look like an evil Milla?

Like a devil. And Laphicet is apparently designed like an angel, right down to the cowlick taking the form of a halo.

Wow- Velvet's edginess is so strong, looking at her character design alone is triggering Evanescence songs in my head.
Joking aside, I love her character design and it's nice to have a primary female protag. for a Tales game, and the second-introduced protag. not a love interest.
I'm just hoping Velvet won't be like Milla in any way, shape, or form. It's an unpopular opinion, but I'm not Milla's biggest fan, and she's the main reason why Xillia is my least fave. of the localized Tales games.
Though given how popular they are, Velvet might end up just being a female Leon or Yuri (or them melded together.) Here's hoping Velvet is a completely new and refreshing Tales protagonist all together.

I can't help but look forward to Bersaria and will definitely look into buying it when it comes to the West. So far the story looks like it could be an interesting one. Or at least a better one than Zestiria's.
Like others have stated, I hope her character (Velvet) is nothing like Milla from Xillia. I wasn't a big fan of her character. Regardless I did enjoy the game itself...so here's to hoping! As far as the second protagonist, Laphicet, he looks absolutely adorable! I really want to learn more about him.

Given that Laphicet is a caster, I'm curious if the Seirei are the predecessors of the Seraphim?
Not too keen, though, on the Valkyrie Profile-esque battle system that they've been hinting at. I prefer my directional stick to control my attacks and artes.

Going by what I've seen of Zestiria so far, Seraphim seem to have existed since forever ago, so they should exist in Velvet's timeframe as well.

So there's obviously a Shepherd around again, and for yet-to-be announced reasons Velvet doesn't fancy his or her efforts. Maybe a Shepherd falling into Malevolence? The Seraphim in Zestiria express great concern for a Malevolent Shepherd multiple times.

Wow, that looks good. What doesn't look good is a non PS3 release here. Not all of us run out and buy the newest systems..... If it's coming out on PS3 in Japan, at the least it should be a PSN download for PS3 here. It certainly wouldn't stop them from asking $49.99 or more for it.

Unfortunately, the response to this is that we "poor gamers" should learn to save money to buy the newest system. I've seen this answer rather callously thrown out at times, along with how the PS3 is too difficult to program for nowadays and that it's an outdated console that's holding game development back. Some people sure do get pompous and stuck up when they own the newest system while the majority still own the previous one.

Don't try to make this a moral issue. The PS3 hardware is grossly outdated at this point. Trying to service both the PS3 and PS4 limits game development immensely. It's not about being "pompous" and "stuck up", it's about basic facts of game development.
The PS3 was released in 2006! This year will be it's ten year anniversary. You are insane if you expect game developers to release content for a 10 year old system.

Question though if the content already exists for both the preceding and succeeding system is it still wrong for people to want publishers to to localize the games for both systems?
Like how it was decided when Yakuza 5 was going to be localized only the PS3 version was localized and not both the PS3 and PS4 versions.

Anger and potential revenge for those who were not saved, is the vibe I'm getting. Since Velvet herself is a monster.

Well first of all, I'm not making this a "moral issue". I'm not even sure where you're getting from that my post, so no. I simply stated this is the answer I see a lot of smug PS4 owners give when a non-PS4 owner wonders why they won't bother releasing the PS3 version of a game overseas while Japan still gets it. It's sad to point out that the dividing line here is between folks who own a PS3 and PS4; they're both Sony consoles, but there's a hierarchy ladder now among Sony product owners.
Second, just because a console is a decade old doesn't mean it still can't be programmed for. Some consoles stuck had around for a long time before calling it quits in the market, so your statement/outburst doesn't really help your case. I'd appreciate it if you watch your tone and not grossly misinterpret my post next time.

The thing is, it's being released for BOTH in Japan for a reason. The same reason why PSP development continued long after PSV was out. The market said "We don't want the NEW system yet, we like our old one." You act like there is no development still for PS3.
Now, you can call it insane, but when a company develops a title for BOTH systems, and to say WE'RE only going to get one - THAT is insane, especially when they can go download only. You want the "special" edition? Get a PS4. Simple enough. I fully understand NISA would need to essentially license 2 titles, so doing only one cuts costs.
Either way, I own a PS3, one day I may go to PS4. Right now, my PS3 does everything I want it to do, so I've no reason to replace it yet. I'm not alone in that view either. I want this game, if I have to wait awhile until I get a PS4, so be it.
