i'm pretty sure that they would show at least a cameo of how the gundam was created. they cant have an origin of char without a brief origin of amuro.

Mobile Suit Gundam is Amuro's and really the Gundam suits origin so why would they need to be in Gundam the Origin?

I mean a younger version of amuro. not the older one. and also their are doing a cameo for the scientist that discovered the minoski particles which bears his name.
so it kinda would make sense on the origin of at least the first gundam. sure we all know amuro's father is the inventor, but how did he came up with it? definitely not out of thin air, that's for sure.
there is absolutely can be a potential story on the gundam's origins cause there is no way a guy can all of a sudden want to create a mobile suit that would eventually change history just for for the sake of the earth federation no matter how loyal he is to the cause.

Amuro was a kid when he first piloted the gundam going younger is pointless.
Wasn't the gundam creation explained in the show? The Zaku's were so effective that the Earth Federation needed something that could compete.

So the Republic is over turned by the Zeon military to make it into the Empire? This is it? The Zaku I looks like their pretty potent machines. It's interesting to see Char finally emerge. It's interesting the a infantryman before he's anything else. I wonder what heck their packing their bazookas with that they rip apart warships...
I do wonder how Char got away with always covering his eyes. Normal military would squish such a impairment, since no one else seems to need such weird setup.

not entirely pointless. its as you said. the federation needed something to compete so they created the gundam.but its creation wasnt completely explained in the show.
also what i mean by is while the younger version of amuro would definitely have no meaning in an origin story, however their definitely gonna have at least a cameo of him.especially considering that his dad created the first. and of course there is the thing about him and char being the first gen newtypes which is featured on the third movie ,but on char's side. so while it would have no true meaning, its not entirely pointless.
