That kind of insert-phone-into-controller scheme would be sweet just to have as a Blue-Tooth controller of any sort. Games would have to know to put the screen in upper part of the phone, but it could have potential outside of being just a Game Boy clone console.

A smartphone that will allow users to play Game Boy Color titles with it...
I'm not sure how well it's going to hold up in sales, since Nintendo has quite a bit of Game Boy Color titles already available on their Virtual Console service. I do hope it will be successful somehow.

I'm sure people would make original games download that would be compatible with the technology.
Actually I hope Nintendo will make something like this in the future since they are going to be moving their games to touch devices. Some people don't like using screens and some games just don't work with out a physical D-pad.

Nintendo is going to throw a tantrum even though Sega has made stuff like this for years. Cool idea, but odds are it never sees production.

Hyperkin??!
hahahaha.
Yeah. Ok. After that Retron 5 debacle, this company can seriously go f- themselves on a pile of rusty foot long nails.
Absolutely do not buy this, or anything ever released by this company. They're liars and scammers, pure and simple.

I wonder how they will handle this. Making an emulator app in the app store to run the game? Because as far as I know, iOS is just so limited in term of everything. I don't think Apple would let people makes something like that. Then Nintendo, yeah, they have more chance getting Apple approve this project.

This is a really cool idea, and if I didn't still have my lime green gameboy (that still works, with Tetris and Uno), I would buy it.

This is actually a really cool idea. And I also like what they did with the reverse "April Fools'".

I remember at one of the E3 events, Satoru Iwata saying that Nintendo's true enemy is not Sony or Microsoft, but Apple. Looking at this device instantly reminded me of that.

Neat idea. Too bad it's made by Hyperkin.
My beef has nothing to do with the Retron 5 debacle, by the way. I just know from experience how iffy their products generally are.
