Ah now this looks fairly interesting. Loved the details of that key visual as well.

Does anyone have an idea of how often Soul of Gold episodes are going to premiere? I've had a hard time tracking down hard info on whether this is weekly or coming out every few weeks like Sailor Moon Crystal.

I wonder if the original Saints (and Seiya) will make an appearance in the anime ? And if so i guess/hope that they will be using the Omega cast because IMHO they're better replacements than the ones for Inferno. Plus Furuya is back

Moreover, is this airing on Bandai Channel proper, or on one of their connected channels, like the one(s) on YouTube? B-Ch is notorious for region-locking even the smallest of clips and, IIRC, they declared similar for a series in the past, but the "Bandai Channel" they announced for the global audience was actually in reference to their YT channel. "AnimeChannel" tends to be for their English audience and others, but "BandaiChannel" is sometimes used as well. Fans were teased in the (distant) past about B-Ch and its massive, mouth-watering library being opened to non-Japanese viewers, but nothing amounted to that beyond the half-hearted AnimeChannel. Overall, though, Bandai's streaming initiative is very fractured. As for the show itself, the budget doesn't look incredible, but it still has a nice, retro edge to it, without looking behind-the-times. Hard to complain with Hideyuki Motohashi designs… |

In the poster image, they look great, but in the trailer I kinda hated the art...
But anyway, the more Saint Seiya the better! |

So is Aioros going to stay dead? Is the poor fellow doomed to miss out on every time Athena hands out free "out of Inferno" tickets?

After the death of Shingo Araki, the only real choice for character designs was Motohashi, as he was the only other person who actually adapted Kurumada's designs to anime via the B't X anime (excluding Michi Himeno, of course, but she was mainly the females). Personally, I'm actually most excited that a cover of "Soldier Dream" is getting used for the OP. That song tends to get absolutely no love due to "Pegasus Fantasy" hogging all the theme song glory. |

I guess I can't be completely bitter about the design because of what's been said already. I was going to say that the design was a little childish.
But I am very curious about this! All twelve Golds are all game! |

I tried rewatching the first season because I saw the art for Omega and was completely hype. But the art for season 1 was so bad I dropped it on episode 25. Will my viewing experience be affected if I skip season 1? I usually don't like to skip episodes but I just can't bear that art and voice acting.

By season 1 do you mean the original anime or Omega? Since Soul of Gold hasn't come out, it's hard to tell whether it'll be newcomer friendly, but I would advise to at least try to watch the 12 Houses arc of the original series (admittedly, the longest arc in the series) and maybe the Hades arc to get a hang on the Gold Saints, their powers and their relationships amongst themselves and with the Bronzes.

^Very true though don't expect great animation for all of Hades, especially after Sanctuary.

By first season I meant the original anime that had like 96 episodes or something, but I looked it up and it seems that the arcs after season 1 and before Omega share the same old art style. One thing that really got me pumped to see Omega was that there were finally some female Saints, and the art doesn't look as good as a lot of modern anime, but compared to the old ones it had a very refined look. Funny that when I watched Saint Seiya as a child I used to think that Shun was a girl (Seriously though, pink armor and Andromeda constellation?). So I was contemplating whether or not to skip right to Omega, but then I worried that I might get confused since I skipped over so much material. |

You can watch Omega without watching the original, but the epicness of the references to the classic series will obviously be lost. As far as a pre-requisite for Soul of Gold, I doubt it'll be necessary to watch Omega, since it seems SoG will take place almost immediately after Hades. I would really, really recommend trying to watch the 12 Houses arc and the Hades OVA up to Inferno (maybe you can skip Elysion), because I think this show is assuming you're already familiarized with the franchise, otherwise you'll have no context for the Gold Saints
