I predict that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Dragons (PETD) will be up in arms...

The reaction over this show is rather over blown in spite of the first episode missing the mark in a lot of ways. More than likely this just forms into a brainless Bishoujo's doing action oriented things show with a budget judging by the intro. I mean one of the upcoming episodes apparently has them taking the head off a dragon with blood gushing out and everything. The aim of the season kind of seems to just be trashy fanservice and exploitation anime so the fact that this gets all the bile seems kind of like looking for a scapegoat to blame everything on more than anything.

While i agree that the first episode was a bit controversial. they way people are judging this. seems to be a bit an overreaction. at least give it a bit more air time before making a final judgement.

This is coming from someone who is actually not a real Mecha fan. i am just saying. :I

I don't give a rat's ass about PETD. Laughing Girls with guns, girls with mecha and badass girls fighting badass dragons just rocks. Cool This is great from Sentai, I just wish they'd make a dub.

People sadly do judge series by an opening episode, these people are also idiots so don't mind them. Hell only Theron was sensible in the first impressions guide making valid points about 'that' scene.

I found nothing at all controversial in episode 1, thought it was a cracking opening episode that had everything you'd want, very happy Sentai have licensed this.

I was wondering if someone was going to pick up CROSS ANGE. This is just me speculating, but given that Funimation has licensed Bandai titles lately, did they avoid this show to stay away from the controversy that comes with it?

I suppose it is a good thing that someone licensed CROSS ANGE.

People sadly do judge other people because they don't agree with their own superior opinion as well. As for “these people” being idiots, I’ll just read it as its Greek and Latin origins and say ‘thank you’ for the compliment.

Guess for Sentai the glass is half full instead of half empty, which is good for those ending up wanting to own this series eventually.

I am just stating an opinion and like others who have an opinion i am just saying how they can judge based on 1 ep cause it is something i don't understand. i did not call them idiots and i never will cause i have my own judgement just as everyone else has the right to state their own.

Look everybody practically has that 1 series which they like and most people would actually hate. my point this is one of those series which i find interesting while most others don't.

It is a good thing they licensed this show at least for me. i am not expecting a franchise to be born here or future sequels but since this is an original series and 2 cour it is guaranteed to have an ending and for me that is enough. but i would like to see some people at least to give it a bit more try before they make a final judgement that is all i am asking Smile

The only scene I even remotely found questionable was the spoiler[boob fondling scene at the very end of the episode.] And I'm pretty sure I know why that would be happening in the context of the story.

The PETD just called and said, they don't care if they die.

I plan to watch this anime, but I also think the first episode was very offensive because of its sensationalist and sexualized pandering of abuse. Rather than interesting, this series could be very amusing to my morbid curiosity.

I plan to have a fun time watching this train wreck, and I might want to buy it on the future. But I perfectly understand those who do not want to continue watching this show after the first episode.

Offensive animes are nothing new, but CROSS ANGE appears to be on its way to becoming the most repugnant show in history.

Then explain and define how your point is better and his is flawed. Our opinions are superior if we can back them up, not with witty remarks.

Now to start:

Whoo boy. Decided to watch the 1st episode and i'm pretty amused with everyones hate on this. Incoherent Mecha? Code Geass/Valvrave/Darkness anyone? Controversial points? Code Geass/Valvrave/Darkness anyone? and obnoxious fanservice? Code Geass/ Valvrave/Darkness along with EVERY echii fanservice show out there anyone!?

Oh don't get me wrong, the episode was meh given its fast pace which failed in hinting some of the characters motives. Like the Prince.

But its regular animation keeping spot on with serious moments (given there were only 2) and beautiful music helped it out. Character wise it seemed great on Ange's part, she fits good as the person who has opportune life moments to find out those are going to be taken away from her in the future to bite her on the ass. To find out that there were so much backlash on her personality is what makes it shine. The developers and writers did not pander it out like most character personas say AOT or SAO with jumping to different personalities an interactions to adapt the character to the moment.

Now the deciding factor is the secondary cast and if the show can stay balanced on fanservice and serious tones.

Lastly. Regarding something you dislike as a point to say the show is against the audience that likes what the show dislike does not give you the benefit to say the show FACTUALLY hates this or that. The anime does not hate women, the SETTING and STORY are the ones that do. Given the characters seem to hate how that is. And it seems thats what the episode was trying to achieve on that part. So its something thats not your cup of tea, not the flaw off the anime.

Well given the fact their catalog of pointlessly flawed echii fanservice shows is controversial all on its own. I say they were contempt on pandering instead grabbing stuff by the balls of their own suit, not by what the fans want. SO MORE SENGOKU!!!!
