This is thoroughly disappointing and saddening.
This slot ought to have gone to Delicious Party Pretty Cure.

Nice! I hope it catches on. I love the video games, but if the anime becomes popular it's likely to outpace the games.
I recogonize alot of the material from the games in what they show, and it looks beautiful in this trailer. Granted, I doubt the 300+ characters from the first game will make their way into this.
I also wonder, if they'll incorporate some of the weirder aspects of the games. Like the Forklift races before the work day kicks off in the first game?
Well, I'll be checking it out.

Really? They’re now using a Sentai cast for this?

Is Ryo allowed to emote like a regular human? They ditched the game cast, with good reason.

Notice one of the characters was inspired by Nami from One Piece.

I mean on Crunchyroll. They have no slots left for Winter 2022.

I don't know why they went with Sentai when they could have just as easily brought back a lot of cast from Shenmue 3 easily enough. Not to knock Sentai, it just feels weird.

I don't see how. The One Piece manga started in 1997. Shenmue the game released in 1999 for Dreamcast, but was in development longer. Originally intended for the Sega Saturn.
Perhaps you're just noticing a popular haircut?

Not to mention she looks much more like post timeskip Nami than what she did in 1999, even if it wasn't in development for years before OP came out

It didn’t catch on in 1999, it didn’t catch on in 2001/2002, didn’t catch on in 2010, didn’t catch on in 2019 Kickstarter be damned.
At this point you just grab the shotgun and take the dog behind the shed.

My only knowledge of Shenmue comes from Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Project X Zone 2. I might watch this just out of curiosity for the story, as I never got around to picking up the re-release of 1 and 2 that Sega did a few years ago. (Didn't have a PS4 or anything at the time.)
