I just mentioned this title in another thread, but I thought I'd start a seperate thread to let people know the official website for the upcoming Studio 4°C omnibus film, Genius Party, is now up and running. Here's the link (Flash player required):
http://www.genius-party.jp This looks very exciting; directors contributing to the film collective include some big names from Studio 4°C: Masaaki Yuasa, Tatsuyuki Tanaka, Atsuko Fukushima, and, of course, the master himself Koji Morimoto. Also included are films by Shoji Kawamori and Shinichiro Watanabe, which will hopefully pull in some mainstream interest. So, the website's up, concept art is available; what do you all think? I, for one, can't wait. It looks like it has the potential to be the finest collaborative since Memories. Thoughts? Which film looks the most interesting? |

No date yet, but seeing as the website is up, and the initial announcement for the project was made over a year and a half ago, and some people knew about it a year before that, I'm sure there's not much longer to wait. A few months would be my guess. I just noticed the "concept" area of the website: "1. A collaboration of geniuses, representing the next generation of world-class animators. 2. A compilation of animated shorts, all-original stories, cahracter design, and animation. 3. A competition of creativity. There's never been a party like this....." With a promise like that, this film had better deliver! |

Stuido 4c and Shinichiro Watanabe... those two things alone will make this great.

I'm looking forward to the Watanabe short, too. But the one I REALLY want to see is Tatsuyuki Tanaka's Tojin Kit, which I've been anticipating ever since I saw the trailer (Kin Jin Kitto) in Digital Juice. The visuals are just mind-boggling. |
