In all seriousness, ID sounds interesting, albeit domestic. I wonder, how many domestic manga about married couples are there? There are so many manga that focus on how people meet, you'd think there'd be one about the life of a married couple. (I'm pretty sure "Ah! My Goddess!" doesn't count...) |

I've read one other "mangaka's domestic life" manga, Yun Kouga's La Vie en Rose. It was really sweet and kind of funny, even if I do now know a bit more about her sex life than I had anticipated.

The Different Story is the first PMMM manga that's sounded interesting to me, so I may have to check it out. And I am definitely interested in ROCK, MONEY & EDUCATION and using it to work on my French reading skills a bit more.

I am so glad Moyocco Anno *did not* cover their sex life at all.
I like Insufficient Direction and found it quite worth owning. It's interesting how some couples influences each other's pop cultural tastes and complement one another's nerdiness, while others never see eye to eye on entertainment. Although the way Moyocco depicts it, most of the geek-share in their relationship went one way--from him to her. It would have been cute to get a chapter of him reading her shojo or josei manga and enjoying it! Do the Annos have kids? They start discussing kids at the end of the book, but I can't find any info on whether they had any (it's nosy of me to want to know, I know, but it's been on my mind since I finished the book!) Oh, and the anime shorts based on the manga are very worth checking out! Love the column! It gives me so much inspiration on what to try out next (I need to search my libraries' catalogs for Vinland Saga.  )

I really liked Insufficient Direction mostly because Anno's humor really clicks with me. Honestly I've loved all of her manga and this one is no exception. I definitely will be buying this soon (I read it on crunchyroll for anyone who wants to check it out first).
Also, Princess_Irene I've really enjoyed your take on the column. Keep up the great work (although my wallet doesn't thank you  )
