Cinedigm is doing volume sets now?

Um.... Haven't they realized it's not 2007 anymore? Confused

WTK, do you happen to know if this is the first public announcement of this license?

^ As in Cinedigm (previously New Video Group) announcement? They have not announced anything yet.

Regardless, the license holder should still be Nelvana (as indicated by the recently added Hulu streaming). The series was released on DVD before. Its distributor was previously Geneon Ent USA and now it's Cinedigm. The was just a gap of no DVD release (with the Geneon DVDs being OOP).

Hmm, that puts me in a bit of a quandary with respect to updating my 2014 Anime License thread. Clearly Cinedigm has the license for a home release if the Amazon listing is to be believed, but apparently there has been no announcement of it yet. I guess I'll just wait to see if there is some kind of official announcement before adding it.

Huh. For some reason I seem to be almost physically incapable of looking at the name "Cinedigm" and not reading it as "Cinnabon". Which is weird because I don't even know if they have those here.

They may not have Cinnabon where you are, but we sure have 'em here. One is conveniently located in the main subway station I use, dammit.

Cinedigm so far has pretty much only has handled the home video distribution side of things. It may depend on what you really meant by license. One good example would be Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn DVDs (license holder: SUNRISE, distributor: RightStuf). And Cinedigm themselves don't formally list details specs on their site until it's closer to the release date (Saint Seiya specs just came out; so maybe around 2-months before actual release date).

Quick overview:
Quote:
A Letter to Momo
- License holder: GKids Films
- Distributor: Cinedigm

various Beyblade releases
- License holder: TBC (should be Nelvana)
- Distributor: Cinedigm

Deltora Quest
- License holder: TBC (probably is Dentsu Ent USA)
- Distributor: Cinedigm

various Digimon releases
- License holder: Saban Brands
- Distributor: Cinedigm

From Up on Poppy Hill
- License holder: GKids Films
- Distributor: Cinedigm

Saint Seiya
- License holder: Toei Animation
- Distributor: Cinedigm

various Yu-Gi-Oh! releases
- License holder: 4K Media (subsidiary of Konami)
- Distributor: Cinedigm

Zatch Bell!
- License holder: Toei Animation
- Distributor: Cinedigm

A bit of a slight correction but they actually have Toei Animation Inc. (their US subsidiary) as "Licensor" & "Studio" for those releases on their site and as for Digimon, Saban Brands is only listed for the Data Squad set while the last four seasons (and box set) lists Toei Inc.

Yeah. I should have keep it as just Toei Animation. As for Saban Brands, I'm going off the PR that was issued back in 2012 for the entire Digimon franchise.

Yeah, I'm a bit sloppy when it comes to distinguishing between a licensor and a distributor (when they are not the same company).

Season 1 Collection listed @ TRSI. As expected, it's dub only.
