Actually yeah, it did do pretty well.
And it had a really great dub to go along with it. One of Sentai's best so far, I'd say.

Did the Funimation dub ever run on either of these? I only remember the 4Kids dub on Toonami.

The Funimation version ran right after the last episode of the 4Kids version (ep 143) in fall, 2007. It was the Jaya Arc all the way through part of the Skypiea arc where Eneru made his appearance. I would know, I watched those episodes along with back-to-back Naruto episodes in the Sasuke Retrieval arc during Toonami's last year when it was reduced to 2 hours instead of 4.

is Neon Alley even going to run sub only shows? I'm not sure how Sentai would feel about going back and dubbing it since its kind of in limbo. Plus Viz dropped the manga, so I doubt they would care too much about the anime.
I wonder if they'll be starting One Piece from the beginning? Still not sure how I feel about this whole Neon Alley thing...

I would imagine they'll treat it kinda like how Adult Swim treated King of the Hill: Start at the beginning 10-14 episodes a week (either 5 days or 7 days a week for 1 hour back-to-back), and at some point in the future when they've blown through them all start showing brand-new episodes that have never been on old Toonami.
This Neon Alley thing is getting interesting; makes me wonder if they'll somehow be able to show advance premieres of Bleach before Toonami can air them as well...

This gives Neon Alley something with a lot of episodes to help fill that 24/7 channel schedule.
It seems a bit strange to mention "albeit with commercials", given that Hulu Plus normally has them, as will Neon Alley.
