By Japan's definition of "obscene", does this means he uploaded uncensored porn? |

WOW!! BRAVO, I am sure Japanese society will sleep even better at night knowing that their hard earned taxes are being well spent (Thou the only direct beneficiaries are rich private companies) with these "SUPER DANGEROUS" individuals PROMPTLY caught by the competent Japanese police! BRAVO!!

I didn't know that the "Kanagawa prefectural police's cyber crime division" was supposed to deal with domestic terrorism, and in other prefectures no less. Let me guess, every officer in the country is supposed to take on every role and those officers devoted to cyber crime must hunt down the Kuroko terrorist? Why do you guys bring that up in every single thread? Maybe it's not quite like the division of the FBI to something like ICE or the ATF, but this is a completely unrelated event. It's like asking a canine drug unit to get to work on homicides cases. Japan's not just Tokyo, and even then, it's a metropolitan area of 35 million, not everyone's going to devoted to some threats that haven't produced any causalities.
It's like that whining bullshit people give when they're pulled over "Why don't you go after the REAAAAALLLLL CRRIIMUNAHLS". Well, you probably were pulled over to fill a quota, but chances are good you still did something wrong. |

This is the first I've heard of animation studios being referred to as "rich" private companies. And for shame on the Japanese police, enforcing laws that aren't of the same serious scale as the Kuroko threats! It's clear that we can evaluate the police force's competency by their effectiveness in selectively applying the law in ways that reflect our personal biases! |

I have a feeling that the music/entertainment industry will drop another 7% in the next year due to these companies, the police & the government scaring the living daylights out of the public.

If you didn't know this, the law enforcement in every prefectural in Japan is all handled by the NPA. So yes, Japan's FBI, ATF, etc... are all under one division. So it looks like NPA is prioritizing one small crime over a big crime.
It gets more ridiculous, I read it from Japanator that Japan has a law against dancing at nightclub , there was a police raid on a nightclub and people got arrested because of dancing. No this isn't a joke or a rumour. The Japanese passed a law prohibiting dancing at a nightclub. Police raid on Vanity club in Roppongi highlights ridiculous Japanese laws that make dance clubs illegal Japan: no dancing please 1948 law on entertainment biz too strict on dance clubs: Japanese lawmakers Antidancing law out of step with Japan’s youth culture Grassroots group forms to fight antidancing law Dancing Ban in Japanese Nightclubs, Netizen Reactions I find the anti-dancing law at nightclub that Japan pass long time ago as ridiculous as passing a law restricting music download like revolutionotaku posted. Japan has some ridiculous draconian law which borderline to dictatorship and that anti-dancing law is a violation of freedom of speech/expression. So yeah my view on Japan's law is ridculous and they make small crime a big deal, but the bigger crime (like threat, traffic safety) not a priority. |

If confrontations ever pop up, just report it. The sooner I can stop it, the less I'll have to clean, and you guys won't have to face my wrath .

The bit I don't get about all these types of articles is that invariably those arrested are generally uploading older titles. Rather than for example current or previous season content. It is usually stuff several seasons or more old.
