Ggggreat I'm 10 years older than her, yet she is making better off with her life than me.
Here I am loosing my precious lifespan shaking trees in animal crossing. I feel so good about myself. I don't hate myself one bit.
*cries on her corner and more animal crossing*

There are better things to do with your life than manga artist.
Also, "nekokaburi" doesn't mean "wearing cat headgear," a more appropriate translation of "The Secret of a Certain Boy In Sheep's Clothing"

So basically, she's a female Japanese Chris Paolini. Let's just hope she has more originality.

So she's entering a notoriously demanding, stressful industry and progressing to the worst stages of Japan's notoriously demanding and stressful school system.
Impressive achievement and congratulations.
She'll be either strung out on coke or dead within a year and a half.

That's........... not much of a school if it can't get you work right after it.

Pfffffff!!! They just get younger and younger. Anyway, the earlier someone gets into art the better, wishing her a lot of luck.
Searched this Mucha guy she likes so much. Most of his work is art nouveau, that's a great source of influence I'd say.

......And once again, the ridiculous cynicism/cynical joke-making of the ANN forums rears its ugly, troll-worthy head.
From a personal standpoint, I wish her well. Congratulations.

It's not ridiculous when it's heavily grounded in reality. Few careers can be so demanding, stressful and generally bad for your health as drawing manga. IIRC, Oda confessed he slept like 3 hours a day tops.
She's only fourteen, she's not ready to take on such a strenous work and I honestly hope her health doesn't end up heavily damaged in the long run

The source article from the Asahi Shimbun page says that the picture displayed is a page from a manga she submitted in 2011 which means she was 12(!) when she drew that
The page also shows a more recent self-portrait picture of her which looks a bit different in style so I guess it's safe to think that she's improved over the past two years.

Fair play to her. Hopefully she won't turn into some kind of US child start who goes off the rails through stress. I'm sure she will stay grounded though. It's a fantastic achievement!
