I have not seen the show, but apparently some dislike it for its cheap animation and prioritizing action over plotline. The primary gripe people seem to have with the series is that the plot as a whole is shallow and not all that interesting.

It's just a mediocre anime with nothing very special or interesting about it. I'd assume thats why people are hating on it.

I am not a hater but the storyline is weak at best. Character and mech design are atrocious. And the animation is pretty shaky. So all in all it is really a sub-par anime. Some of the episodes I enjoyed, but all and all, it is pretty ridiculous. I wouldn't put it in the same league as Naruto, or Inuyasha. Not like there all that high up to there begin with.

Yeah, I don't like any of those three mentioned either. I don't really like Inuyasha because I never really undertstood it, and even when I tried watching the first episode, I still couldn't get into it. I found it confusing, at first, because so much kept happening so fast, and then it just became boring because of that.

Honestly, I've never seen Naruto, so I can't say it's bad, but I just don't like it. Judging by the shows length and the fact that it's on Cartoon Network (and not Adult Swim), I put it aside, thinking it was something like Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, and all those other shows I used to love and watch many moons ago. LOL!

As for S-Cry-Ed, the first episode I saw was Ayase Terada, which I actually liked. So, then another night I tried to watch the first episode, which I didn't like, and the second episode, which I also didn't like. IDK, I found them slow-paced, kind of boring, and even somewhat cheesy. It started reminding me of like DBZ, in a bad way, though (because, even today, I still don't hate DBZ, I just don't like it nearly as much as I used to).

I don't see what was so bad about it. Sure it wasn't the best show I've ever seen, but once you've seen Gundam Seed Destiny it doesn't take much to raise the bar.

When you call a show great and then provide no evidence as to why it's great all your doing is leaving doubt in people minds. Also the comparison between the shows doesn't really help, I really don't care for Naruto, and Inuyuasha is middle of the road for me.

I've never seen an entire episode of this series, I always seems to catch a part here and there, and from what I saw it was alright for me. But it been sometime since then and I am not running out to buy, nor rent it so......Maybe after I finish up some other series on netflix I will add the first disc to see if it any good. But more then likely I doubt that I will watch anymore then what I catch on [AS].
Till next time,

Ironically, I'd rank s-CRY-ed much higher than both Inu-Yasha and Naruto. And even then, I still wouldn't say it's a great show.

Thing is, s-CRY-ed's really a pretty stupid series once you break it down and analyze it. The plot's silly, the writing's clumsy, and it really seems to lose its way and forget the story several times. That said, however, it's an endearing stupid. It's good, dumb entertainment, made even more fun when you can get some friends together and watch it (and rag on it) as a group. And admittedly, a good bit of the cast are genunely entertaining and likable (though most, like Kazuma, are just as much stupid fun as the rest of the show, with his brilliant "I'ma hit things real hardlike with ma FIST!" philosophy and all).

Basically, it's stupid and fun, and not much else.

InuYasha is must-see for me, and it bothers me when I miss an episode. The strange thing is, though, I didn't like that series at first because I had no clue who the people were or what was happening. When I got a chance to see this series from the beginning, it took me at least a dozen episodes to understand the story and the characters. That gave me enough of a basis to be able to care about the characters throughout the course of the series. It may not be the greatest series, but for me it's near the top.

As for s-CRY-ed, I saw it during its debut run on Adult Swim. I thought it was OK. I can't call it great for a number of reasons. Although the story (as explained on the official web site) sounded good in theory, its presentation felt too awkward for my liking. The plot was too conventional during the first half of the series. Also during the first half of the series, established character relationships seemed static, and character development was minimal.

What redeemed s-CRY-ed for me was the major plot twist which occurred essentially halfway through the series. That's when I thought s-CRY-ed became more compelling. The flaws I perceived and noted in the previous paragraph were addressed in the second half of the series.

Without revealing what happens in the final episode, I will say I found it to be purely fanservice. Without that as a motive, I saw no point in having the final episode as it was (and I've seen the final episode three times despite seeing the series just once).

s-CRY-ed is a series which I liked watching when it was new to me, but I cannot say I want to go through a second viewing. For the reasons I noted earlier, I cannot rate s-CRY-ed higher then good. As far as I'm concerned, the major plot twist I mentioned before saved s-CRY-ed.

I can see how people can call it great, but I don't share that opinion. That's not hating, that acknowledging what I experienced.

I never liked this show. I gave it five chances; and it failed horribly on my behalf. The characters were dull, the fight sequences were a snooze, and the plot was plain dumb.

Just like Inuyasha and Naruto (although Naruto is fun to watch, unlike Inuyasha, which is totally uninteresting).

Really? I acutally rated s-CRY-ed lower than InuYasha, and I rated that series So-so. I watched the first 10 episodes of s-CRY-ed on Adult Swim back in 2005, and it was 9 episodes more than what I wanted to see. Basically, what turned me off about this series is that the characters were just not very interesting, especially the main character. The main character was basically an angst-riddled antagonist who just wanted to pick fights. The plot was very shallow and lethargic, and did nothing to improve the overall quality of the characters. Animation wasn't too bad, but the music was just as bad as the characters. Overall, this is a series I wouldn't recommend unless you like to watch mindless fun.
