I've got to say, I am glad that the voice actor is doing fine and not injured. I just wonder what posses people to do actions like this.

It's a very strange world we live in these days, it truly, truly is.

Nice to see the police have so much free time they can afford to waste it on pointless crap like this.

As if Japan didn't have enough to deal with, with the tsunami/earthquake, radiation leaking from the nuclear plant, and now some crazy fatass S.O.B. threatening to kill Hirano and blow up Fuji TV. Glad the police caught him.

Everyone wants a piece of Hirano, it's sad that dude wasn't invited into Aya bubble-gum time in Japan

Was a motive ever given? Curious as to what would cause someone to make such threats.

Japan is low crime rate country unlike ours, so there is no surprise they did this. also how is it pointless you can not threaten to take ones life, have a plan to do so, blow up a t.v. station etc. That's domestic terrorism plus homicide.

Reading his Twitter feed made me think he lost his mind shortly after the March 22nd airing of Pikaru no Teiri, when Aya Hirano along with two other participants on the show were put on "recharge", as in temporary leave of the show.

Afterwards, there were numerous tweets proclaiming first that Aya Hirano has been discharged from her agency, and then that "she's dead", "she committed suicide" and "I killed her", etc. He also tweeted many times at Aya Hirano, telling her to die/go kill herself.

If you go around arresting everyone who makes threats on the internet you'd have a million people under lock and key in no time flat. The police need to find a better use for their time then chasing down every empty threat some loser on the web decides to make.

I'm glad they stopped the guy before he hurt not only himself, but other people as well. People too easily like to ignore these kinds of outbursts until someone goes over the edge and people get hurt. This guy just didn't tweet one or two threats, but repeatedly threatened Hirano and made several threats against Fuji TV. Since the police looked into it and found enough evidence to bring the guy in, hopefully this is as far as it will go.
