Neat.

Are you going to add a blog section to the site-related discussion forum?

So I guess this'll give more of an insider's spin rather than the typical "OMG Haruhi Ep. 12!!!" anime blog?

Yay, opinions! Sure, everybody has one, but these people actually have a background.

I think this is one of the better additions to the site in recent years.

What a great idea! I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys and the pros. Any Japanese talent lined up?

Best of luck with this.

I was wondering when you guys would come out with this. I remember finding that test blog entry and posting in it a few months ago (my secret how I found it Wink ) so I was expecting it to come soon. Well, looks cool.

I don't know if anybody else is having this problem so I'll ask. Whenever I try to look at the comments for the blogs, it won't display the information of who posted it when first loaded. But when I scroll up and then back down the information will be displayed.

I still don't get why you had that poll "Are you an anime fan?" I was gone that week and didn't see new column called "Press page" or anything like that.

Anyways, good idea with the whole blog, hope it takes off.

That is great news! I am hoping that finally we will get a chance to see what it is like on the inside of the anime business. If it anything like Gilgamesh Director Journal (Found on Vol 7) I will be glue to my computer all day and night.
Then again that could be a bad thing, my gf thinks I spent too much time here already. Anyways I am going to stop writing here and check out the new blog feature.
Till next time,

Delta Kiral

Yes in order for it to display right I have to hit the comments button, then the back button, and then the comments button again. And then it still won't load the first person who commented name. Also the first person's comment is displayed inside the authors box.

Minor problem though, I am sure they will iron things out.

As I've mentioned in my site, "I’ll see with my very own eyes if what is published on the blog is as personal (as well as close to home) as it is."

The best of luck in this latest venture.

First post and already you win. Nice.

We'll get some good, some less than informative, and maybe a bad one every now and then. It's all opinion mostly but I'll wait until they get crankin'.

As a regular RSS aggregator user and blog reader, I have some UI comments about how the content is displayed.

1. From my feeds list, I select a a post that directs me to www .../blogs/?permalink=X. What is annoying me about the resulting post shown is that it's not the full post and there's a "More..." link. Usually going to a post from a feeds list shows the full post (www.../blogs/b.php?permalink=X), with the comments shown as well. Otherwise, it is like reading the half post from the front page and you have to direct the mouse to make an extra click to "More...".

2. Clicking on the comment link sends me to the bottom of a full post+comments list to a comment form. This may become a nuisance to someone who wants to read comments of a post that's gained a heated discussion. There will be a lot of scrolling to the top. So it would be nice to distinguish between a link that sends the user to other people's comments and one that goes to the form. Perhaps separate "comment (x)" into two links: "comment" -> form, "(x)" -> list of comments.

I'm not sure how complex the developers made the blog application, but at least they made it (I'm happy there's a staff blog) and I hope my two cents will be of use.

Thanks for the suggestions Ashitsuki.

I have to admit I'm not a very avid blog reader myself, so I was mostly going off the defaults for where links are supposed to point to in the feed. I'll try to make some changes for that if not this week then definitely after I'm back from AX.
