Maybe I am thinking too far in a advance about this, but wouldn't thieves care more about the money (or yen in this case) than the noodle recipes? You can find noodle recipes anywhere for free or pay money. But it's not that easy to find money as it is opposed to noodles.
Frankly, you could go to a food store and get a pack of noodles for less than a quarter, so it's not like noodles are exceptionally rare or anything like that. Yes, I realize some business might pay for that recipe, but considering it is Japan we are talking about, I imagine it's even easier to get noodles there then in the United States.
I am just saying though, while a recipe could be used for money, it would take more work to get money for it. Whereas just getting money in the first place is much easier. I am not saying it's right to do that at all, I am just stating what is rational.

Is it honestly any more strange than Plankton trying to steal the Crabby Patty recipe in Spongebob? 'Cause look at how well that show did!

Enough with these "moe" characters and produce more girls that are genuinely sexy.

Who's to say these girls aren't "genuinely sexy" in the eyes of their target demographic? Just a difference of opinion. Besides, can you imagine trying to put photos of say... women from Maxim, Victoria's Secret, or Playboy... onto a package of angel hair spaghetti?
In any case, food making techniques are serious business. Look at Yakitate!! Japan. 'Nuff said.

It's more the case of thinking too much about it in the first place, me thinks.
I can see bishoujo for the guys, maybe some bishounen for the girls?

Very true. Especially good recipes are quite valuable to manufacturers, and they guard them closely. I don't imagine that has much, if anything, to do with this though. It's a marketing gimmick, and industrial espionage is a convenient part of the gimmick.
Having said that, I'd buy these if I could get my hands on them. Just because.
