I'm surprised Viz actually openly said O-Parts Hunter was called 666 Satan. Let alone the fact that they sent out a press release, so they DO officially announce licenses once in a wile.

Yeah, about a month after soem of the titles were solicited ; But who can blame them "announcing" licenses doesn't get them enough publicity to make it worth it. What'smore, if they "announce" it early, the "marketing steam" wears off long before the release... -t |

Yeah that's true. But it's pretty weird that they'd officially talk about O-Parts Hunter which gets released in December, while they haven't even said a word about Yakitate!! Japan. I guess they know that the Kishimoto-name will be more of a hype on its own than a manga about baking bread. |

I'm so glad they are bringing Densha Otoko here. Hopefully if it sells well, someone will licence the movie and show since both were very good.
I love Viz D:
I hope nothing is edited out, since CMX seems to have a habit of that. Also, any news on if the Densha Otoko book is being translated? Last edited by GenshikenOhno on Fri May 19, 2006 5:29 pm; edited 1 time in total |

This is.. slightly off-topic, but still related. Anyone know what the deal with "O-Part" is? It's used in 666 Satan and Master of Mosquiton and I'm wondering if there's some mythology to it or something. o_o;

I was hoping that Viz would release the Gintama graphic novels soon, but I'm even happier now because they licensed Busou Renkin, which I was looking forward to. I'm definitely going to buy it once it comes out.
@Michi: It might be, but I haven't heard of it before. I did a Google search for it and I mostly came up with "optical art" (here's one of the links I found - http://www.colorcube.com/illusions/optiart.htm ), so I don't know if it's referring to that or something else. |

well i guess if you can't get Fullmetal alchemist, you might as well get the pale imitation.
i wonder how they plan to promote Densha Otoko. Last edited by v1cious on Fri May 19, 2006 10:35 pm; edited 1 time in total |

What bothers me is this:
Good Gods! Miyazaki's best movie turned into animanga! Ick! |

I thought Busuo Renkin had already been officially announced.
@GenshikenOhno: As far as I know, the only title that CMX has edited is Tenjo Tenge. Hardly a "habit." |

I've heard it used elsewhere, too. I'm not exactly sure about this, but I had heard it meant something along the lines of "Out-of-place part." |

Also "Sword of the Dark Ones" (Ragnarok). Other titles don't receive this treatment though. |

As far as I know it's the original japanese manga version. |

Then why is it called "Film Comics" if it is just a manga?
And is there even a manga version of Princess Mononoke? |
