I've read a review about Madlax, and I interpreted Madlax as related to Noir in some way. Is Madlax a sequel or something like that to Noir?

There's a lot of similar story elements and it is made by the same people, but Madlax is entirely unconnected to Noir.

Key's right, however, both series even though they have some simmilliarities are different too. I'd highly reccomend both of them, and own them myself.

As said before they both have very similiar elements, but they are not connected in anyway (except for the assasin get up). They are both excellant shows, and deserve to be both watched.

They are only truly linked in that they were created by the same company (Bee Train) and had the same director. Other staff worked on both projects as well, but the director is the 'link.'
Some other similarites:
-girls with guns
-amnesiacs as main characters
-dual female main characters
-at least one of which is an expert at killing
-massive body count with almost no blood
-music by Yuki Kaijura

My mom calls this James Bond blood and approves, because you don't see any blood but you still see that person fall in the background after they have been shot........
Anyways I enjoy Noir, haven't had the chance to see Madlax. Is Gunslinger Girls also similar to these titles? I had heard that they are very similar as far as genre, or does anyone know if it goes deeper then that?
Till next time,

Gunslinger Girl could go in the same genre I guess; young girl assassins. But GG deals only with the radical factions in Italy and has no overal story to it, mainly just a series of missions they're sent on. Madlax and Noir followed a thorough storyline. And there's no "quest for the missing past" in GG. And oh, it shows quite a bit of blood

Gunslinger Girl has "Girls With Guns" but that's about the only similarity. GG is more focused on drama and character development of the girls than on the action. And people actually bleed in GG.

Gunslinger Girl is similar to Noir/Madlax in many respects, as mentioned, plus almost the same style pacing and setting. The focus is more on the girls, though, with their problems and relationships. Noir and Madlax uses those as subplots, while Gunslinger Girl uses terrorists/politics as a secondary story. I like the blood use in Gunslinger Girl, it gets a little annoying in Noir and Madlax...
Similar but different.
