Being a long time J-pop fan, I've recently begun developing a firm interest in Enka. I've discovered Hikawa Kiyoshi and Nakazawa Yuko and like them much (especially Nakazawa's duets with whoever her partner is). So, I'm wondering if anyone has any other good tips about Enka artists.
While on that subject, in the beginning of GTO episode 36, Fuyutsuki-chan plays some definitely Enka-like music while cursing Onizuka alone in her room. Does anyone know if that is a real artist and, in that case, who? |

Allow me to direct you to this useful site, which provides quite a lot of info on enka. It includes samples of copyrighted music, so pointing to it is technically a violation of ANN's rules, but the samples in question are (so far as I can tell) always excerpts, not complete works... so I don't suppose it's over the line.
It is also slightly dated... but with enka, that can be seen as a virtue.
