Will Rapture only be available on Sky? Or on Freeview aswell?
It's also nice to see more anime coming to the UK without having to come under the Toonami banner (Oh how I miss CNX, uncut Gundam, uncut Outlaw Star, uncut Cowboy Bebop, uncut Big O....). Hopefully they'll be airing these two series uncut. Still, the UK needs a dedicated uncut anime channel! Why should just the US get things like the Anime Network? |

A dedicated anime channel wouldn't be a good thing, especially with the current state of the anime market. What you need is anime airing on a station that people actually watch to spread it to a wider audiences. Only anime fans would watch an anime channel.

Rapture a "new" station? It's been lurching from crisis to crisis, relaunch to relaunch and web site to web site for years. I don't hold out much hope...

True... but surely securing the rights to air something like Fullmetal Alchemist on UK television has to be one of the most ambitious moves a station has taken this year.

Hm, they don't have any info on the times it's being shown yet. Hopefully they'll have a late-ish slot (ie - after 9pm) so that the uncut versions can be shown rather than the Edited for TV versions
At least this shows that UK channels are at least starting to take an interest in more than just anime that's aimed at kids, such as Pokemon and Digimon. |

Right, the US Anime Network. The one that just shows ADV shows and nothing else. The one that's bringing in terrible ratings. It's not like we have what we really want over here, and it's not going to happen unless ADV, Funimation, Bandai, Geneon, and the others work together for a new channel, which will not happen. Oh well, at least I'm seeing Noir and Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu for free. |

The reason that the Anime Network shows nothing but ADV is because ADV own and run it. You're right that they do all need to get together to make a broad anime channel though, but like you said, it's not likely to happen. It also doesn't help that a lot of anime releases don't make it over to the UK on DVD, and the one's that do are massively overpriced, plus we never get the Special Editions with the Extra bits such as Collectors boxes. Although that's why I do all my anime shopping at DVDPacific, hehe. £10 for the average anime disc containing 3-4 episodes. Can't argue with that price. Still, at least manga is taking off over here. Even WH Smith and Waterstones stock manga now, although they just don't have the selection that specialist shops such as Forbidden Planet have. |

Hi,
Hope you guys are all enjoying the shows on Rapture. As you may or may not have seen the anime slot on Sunday is the highest rated slot gaining roughly 11,000 viewers. While it may not seam like much when you take everything into account thats is quite good for us. We will be launching a major marketing campaign when we relocate to the new epg number 193. Thanks Greg |

That's awesome! I hope that the anime block sees a lot of growth in the future!
