Hiya guys, I need your help with something.
I'm writing up something on the top 10 craziest crazy/cool JPop/rock/ videos in the last several years, and I need your help picking some good ones. So far, I've got * Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Kimi no machi made * T.M. Revolution - dokusai~monopolize <-- videos where crazy stuff happens like they'll be sitting around and someone's arm will turn into a rocket or a giant squid will eat someone. I need similarly crazy/cool/wtf videos for bands like Psycho le Cemu, L'Arc en Ciel, Puffy AmiYumi, Daigo Stardust, and the pillows, and 3 more. If anyone can point me towards some "whoamg crazy wtf" videos, I'd be in your debt. Thanks! |

While by no means mainstream, Happa Tai's "Yatta!" would certainly qualify as THE strangest video I've seen, Japanese or not. Hilarious and just freakin' odd.

As for L'arc-en-Ciel I'd choose 'Love Flies'.

Hikaru Utada's 'Traveling' is very weird yet wonderful. I'd check it out.
Also, if want wtf from Hikki try 'Hikari'(the japanese version of 'Simple and Clean'). It's the stupidest j-pop video I've ever seen. The video for Puffy AmiYumi's 'Boogie Woogie No.5' is als overy good. It looks like one of those Gap commercials, but with energetic ska music and funny dances! |

I'd say T.M. Revolution's "Hot Limit" and "Wild Rush"
The 1st one made me laugh, and the 2nd one, Takanori-san looks funny in his spoiler[monkey costume] |

Aha, this will be great.
The FLARE - They have a couple weird-ass music videos that look like they were put together in Windows Movie Editor. Go to their discography - http://www.the-flare.com/discography.html - and you can you one of them, the song called "Forgive". There's a newer single of theirs, "Manastu no Koibito" with an even weirder video, but it's not available on the site right now. :/ But if you can get your hands on it, that'd be great. Either way, these two videos are the weirdest music videos I've ever seen in my life, and they need to be on this countdown. :D Runners up include: Gackt - Oasis. I'm sorry, but does ANYONE know what the hell is going on in this video? Anyone at all? I can't even begin to explain it. Sugizo and THE SPANK YOUR JUICE - Super Love. LSD colors and minature sombreros pay tribute to the 70's and mariachi. At the same time! La'cryma Christi - Jouestu no Kaze. I might have spelled that wrong...either way, some of you may recongnize it as the ending theme to NightWalker. The music video plays out like a old-fashioned game of Monopoly, or like a 90's mystery television show, complete with a cruise liner, a beautiful woman wearing all red, and the entire band is suspicious of each other and basically ending up killing each other. It's sort of funny, because while this all sounds dramatic, the music is catchy and upbeat. |

You sure you didn't mean T.M.Revolution - Madan ~ Der Freischutz? Apart from the squid it sounds pretty similar. Crazycool, hmm, I'm surprised I have seen so few but maybe these will do: * EE Jump - Ikina Rhythm! (Hard to describe without making it sound stupid) * HalCali - Girigiri Surf Rider (Michael Jackson action) * Happa Tai - Yatta (previously mentioned by somebody else) * Hysteric Blue - Grow Up (not sure you would see this in a western music vid) * L'arc-en-ciel - Killing Me (not that crazy but some odd moments) * The Pillows - Ride on Shooting Star (again, more odd than crazy) * Ulfuls - Ashita ga Aru (crazystupid rather than crazycool) |

Actually, yes, that's the video. The editor corrected the mistake later. In any case, the article is over and done with, so thanks for everyone's help. ![]() On a tangent, "Yatta" doesn't really count, because it's not a J-music PV. It was just done for a variety show as a joke. |

The video clip for Arittake no Ai de by Gackt involves him sitting in a guy's ear during a wedding, which an impersonator of him is attending. And he has an afro.
![]() The clip for PlC's Roman Hikou has got to be one of the single strangest PVs I have ever seen in my life. Almost anything by Miyavi would work as well, but Ashita Genki ni Naare probably shows off his insanity best ![]() This probably isn't usable because it involves nudity and blood and general nastiness, but the PV for Illuminati by Malice Mizer is like a B-grade horror movie that will give you epilepsy. It's very... special ![]() ![]() Last edited by violetsquirrel on Tue Dec 20, 2005 11:40 am; edited 1 time in total |

One of the best music videos I've seen, and also one of the craziest was "Feel" by Beat Crusaders. Ever since hearing their music in the anime Beck, they have become one of my favorite bands. Another wacky video is "Blackout" by Asian Kung-Fu Generation.
