I think live-action musicals are very fun parts of some anime. :D They're definately relevant. I know Hunter x Hunter, Prince of Tennis, and Sailor Moon are some anime that have been adapted into live-action musicals.
Can I add these to the encyclopedia? If so, how can I do so? They don't really fit any of the allowed categories when I try to "add an anime" (since they're not animated), and I don't know how to add things to the "not anime but related" section. What should I do? |

Looks like my earlier bump was deleted (without even a private message to say why). D: But seriously, the question still stands, so I'll keep on hoping for an answer, even if the answer is "we don't know yet". Just doing this for the sake of the encyclopedia, since the musicals are definately as important to anime as other live-action adaptions are.

The question keeps coming back... how closely does something have to be related to anime in order to get into the encyclopedia? We have plenty of live-action adaptations of anime/manga, so a musical doesn't seem to be so far-fetched to me. I don't think we should put any special effort towards cataloguing all known musicals, but I don't mind either.

I'll see if I can follow the format of the Bleach musical (which is indeed live action, despite the misleading pictures in the encyclopedia) and add the Prince of Tennis musicals, then.
 In my opinion the musicals are just as worthy of being in the encyclopedia as other live-action adaptions of anime (movies and TV dramas). It's also interesting to note that some of the musical actors are voice actors.
Time to figure out how they got it to say "musical special" in the parentheses on the Bleach musical page, though... hmm. Edit: There, I've submitted form requests for all 9 Prince of Tennis musicals to be added to the encyclopedia (sorry for submitting so much at once). I'll let the editors sort it out. Trying to make the encyclopedia as accurate as possible for my favorite series (I wonder why the other Prince of Tennis movie I submitted months ago was never added to the encyclopedia, though? I should stop whining, haha...)

I would probably just add the date of the musical's release to the vintage of the anime since it's a relevant part of the title's history.
As for adding musicals completely, I don't think the fans here are very interested in the actors and directors of the musicals. |

I think the fact that many of the actors in the Prince of Tennis musicals are already in the encyclopedia as either voice actors, anime theme song singers, or cast members of the Bleach musical makes them worthy of being here.
And with the live action Prince of Tennis movie coming up, the musical actors might be the actors in the movie. |
