Hey out there,
I just watched the final eps of Elfen Lied (which is one of the saddest endings ever, but I won't give anything away here), and got wondering if there are any other series out there that are similar to this one and of the same quality. If anyone knows of any decent series out there that are close to Elfen Lied then leave a reply! |

Please! We have grammer for a reason! We have spelling for a reason! Mix them together and what do you get? An english sentence! Yay! To the founder of this thread, I must say that I would recomend Gantz if you are looking for something just as bloody, with half the story. I would say Saikano if you are looking for more of a story. You can read the summaries here: anime#3641 And here: anime#914 |

I would also recommend Saikano; I can honestly say I actually cried when I watched this series it so sad. Saikano is totally worth it, I have seen Elfin Lied which is #5 on my favorite anime list and Saikano is #2. If you like Elfin Lied as much as I did then I’m sure you will love Saikano just as much if not more.

We have grammar and spelling for a reason, you say?
(Spoilers for episodes 12 & 13 of EL follow) I don't know, I didn't find the ending of Elfen Lied spoiler[to be all that sad--yeah, the bit with #35 and Kurama was sad, but the main "family" of the show survived, and even Lucy seemed like she was coming back at the very end, though maybe to kill Yuuka and others. For me, some of the saddest parts of that show were some of the flashbacks for Mayu and Lucy, as well as the scene in episode 12 where we finally see the deaths of Kanae and Kohta's father.] SaiKano is good stuff; some other shows that might be applicable would be Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and AIR -- these aren't action/violent like Elfen Lied, but there's plenty of angst/tragedy to go around. If you want ultra-violence and concepts of twisted humanity, try Texhnolyze, though you won't find the cuteness/fanservice that bolstered Elfen Lied. |
