Not really. Those sales are pretty normal.

K-ON!! has been averaging 3k DVD first week copies sold per volume. It's so lopsided for BD it's not even funny.

That's why I mentioned LD sales, when Japan switched to LDs over VHS. But I think it's just low because Japanese don't buy as much as Americans per capita, particularly with smaller abodes.

because the price difference between the BD and DVD is not much at all
and BD you get all these goodies to go with in.... I don't know why would anyone buy the DVD (even if you don't have a blu-ray player)
I have digital copies 1080 blu-ray rip of k-on!! on my computer, and also bought full set 1-9 k-on!! blu-ray from amazon.jp (not cheap)
mainly for the tapestries though Razz
