Okay.. so I like the punk, pop, rap, r&b, rock. But the only ones that I have heard in Japanese are I think 'The Pillows' is a style of punk/pop.. and utada hikaru, ayumi hamasaki, round table etc for J-pop.. but give me some more good bands or solos of punk/pop, or just j-pop... they can be anime or non-anime... thank you!

Check out the Beck OST for some punk/rock.
For more Jrock(if your interested): L'Arc-en-Ciel, Porno Graffiti, TETSU69(Tetsu from L'Arc), Janne Da Arc, Beat Crusaders(Beck OST), and Pierrot.
For Jpop: Minmi(catchy), UNDER17, Ali Project, Akino Arai(slower beats), Morning Musume, and Yuki Kajiura.
KOTOKO does some Jpop with a kind of techno twist. And I'm sure you've heard of Megumi Hayashibara.

The Pillows are not pop/punk, they are just Japanese rock.

That really is argueable, the Pillows don't really fit into a genre. I personally would call them alternative.

Alright, you want the works? Here's the watered down version of my opinions. You may disagree or agree, to each his own. But I listen to way too much Japanese rock and have plenty of suggestions. ^_^;
As for great J-rock bands:
X-Japan
Luna Sea
La'cryma Christi
Onmyouza
Kaggra
Pierrot
Dir en Grey
The FLARE
D'espairs Ray
Buck-Tick
Those are just a small amount of suggestions...I tried to represent a good variety.
As for j-pop...I don't listen to it much, actually. But I do love a certain pop band called RAG FAIR. :3 B'z is an amazing band, and they borderline between pop and rock - either way, I'd reccomend checking them out.
As for punk, there's a J-band called JELLY-> that I'm found of.
(edit) Most of these acts are not related to anime whatsoever. They don't need the extra promotion to be awesome. ^_~

Yeah, X-Japan and Onmyouza are both pretty metal, but I consider metal a sub-catagory of rock in general.
