You show me yours (examples), and I'll show you mine.

Those are the rules.

Welcome to the forums.

There are many intros that I enjoy, but offhand I can't think of one that makes me "jump with excitement". However, I will say that any intro featuring Ali Project makes my hair stand up and makes me jump for the mute button.

thank you for the welcome if it was sincere, really hard to pick up on sarcasm through written word...not enough dialogue to comprehend.

It's sincere. On these forums, we require a bit more than just a sentence or two and users definitely expect your opinion first.

Since you're still a bit lost, I'll lead by example.

The only opening which gets me excited is that of Lucky Star as it's the only opening I have never skipped. In fact, I'm watching it right now (I've seen the opening now 230 times, not including internet views) and that's pretty freaky.

I love the opening for its little dance sequence and the energetic song. Watching the four "get down" is pleasurable, and the little individual dances they do are just fun to watch.

The real "surprise" comes on the final episode, when it's all put together.

There are other fun openings, but I'll just watch them once if I'm re-watching a series.

I do enjoy the openings for Aria as they're integrated into the series. After season 1, I generally skip forward because there's little to no dialogue in the opener.

I also love the Clannad openers for both seasons, but only watch once or twice before ignoring them. I get excited for Fuko in the first season as she's my little sweetie.

Time for dinner.

just watched the lucky star intro and it is pretty captivating lol.
I love the clannad openings but i didn't watch it right to the end.....need to get on to that.

Thank you for the welcome Smile
Very new to this whole forum business just thought it would be fun....spend most my time working, studying or on the bmx so very little time for socializing....(making time lol)

Bit of a rubbish question i know just really didn't know what to open with lol, for some reason i thought it rude to join and then straight away go on someone elses post/thread Confused
Anyway i really appreciate the detailed answer
Thanks Smile
Ps.1-I now know the wonder of the lucky star intro lol
2-Is the show any good...i know it entirely depends on what im into but im pretty open.....except naruto
Mad (personal opinion Smile )

"Sorario Days" from Gurren Laggan was a really epic song, that got me pumped for each episode

"FT", Fairy Tail's 3rd Opening, is also pretty awesome, but then the entire soundtrack is great.

Most recently is "We're Not Alone" from Rainbow, I REALLY enjoy the fact that the song is in perfect unbroken english, and it fits the mood of the series well, even when it shifts tones from time to time.

I second this, same goes for their ending themes too, I can't stand them lol.

As for exciting openers, I'd have to say the second deathnote OP and the first for Durarara!

Well when I was younger the DBZ opening was the best like a promise of a heroin shot to come.

Now I would say Air Gear would fit in that category, I loved the song enough to get some of their other songs (the band is called back-on), plus its a promise of an anime that i absolutely love.

I also liked one of the FMA ones but forgot which one.

To provide some balance, I really did enjoy the OP to Rozen Maiden; I felt the animation and music fit together solidly.

Rin's OP was pretty cool too, although that was more the music than anything else.

On the flipside, I found the OPs for Pani Poni Dash! to be extremely interesting visually (wouldn't really have expected otherwise). The music I could do without, although it did have that annoying quality of sticking in your head for hours afterwards.

I wouldn't say any of these made me jump up and down with excitement, though. But yeah, a good OP is always a nice plus.

The one that come straight to mind is "Bouken Desho Desho?" which is of course the opening of the first season (not counting episode 0) of The Melancholly of Haruhi Suzumiya. Just one of KyoAni's briliant opening and I am a big fan.

A few of the Fairy Tail songs make me jump with excitment, for the sake of it I will say the first one which I think is called "Snow Fairy".

And I think the Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu opening song "Perfect Area Complete" gets me jumping with excitment.

Hard to stop mentioning them, might finish with Mitsudomoe.

Also bringing us out of the newbie wilderness:
Shame on Japanese corporate-rights greediness for depriving the US of Kodocha's first-season opening:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y88UmFENQx4

(I mean, you think "exciting", you generally think "Tank" from Cowboy Bebop, but putting that in the thread would be too much of a cliche'-- Cool
Me, I can appreciate more of a gag-comedy retro-swing like Ghost Sweeper Mikami.)

Ah, you would be referring to the US syndie/early-CN "speed-metal" version, I take it.
That's the only "heroin shot" version I know of. Very Happy
