Would anyone be interested in doing a weekly manga club where we read a manga together in Japanese and then help each other with aspects of the text that others don’t understand, as well as discuss any other area of the story that you would like to address? I recently read through the Ryushika Ryushika series by Yoshitoshi Abe, and the whole time I kept thinking what a great manga it would be for people studying Japanese. (Most of the text is written in hiragana and katakana, so it is very easy to work your way through it.) Learning Japanese can quite a grueling endeavor, and for those of you who don’t have a native to speaker to talk to when you don’t understand something, a club like this could provide you with knowledge that might otherwise be unavailable to you.

I’m open for any suggestions on how the club could operate, but I was thinking something along the lines of reading 50-75 pages a week. Of course, this is subject to change depending on the difficulty of the manga.
