That's why One Piece is Beast. Nuff' Said Very Happy

I've been collecting the manga books since 2006 and I'm loving it more and more. I'm close to catching up and finishing the 3rd Season box sets to Sky Island.

Now all we need is a confirmation that they will release Season 4 of Foxy Pirates/Water 7 Arc.

But you know what's interesting why I think Season 4 will be released this year. I bought some recent GE Merchandise for One Piece. I got the magnets with all the Straw Hat Wanted posters for those.

But here's the interesting thing, on my receipt it says:

One Piece Magnet: Water 7 Island Characters which includes Franky.

Heck, when I check the GE website, they even got Franky on their group mug and the One Piece poker cards. I haven't bought those yet, but I will Anime hyper

This whole breaking-record-with-each-new-volume thing is getting ridiculous.

Yup, couldn't agree more.... Come on, some new super-manga-which-takes-over-the-record-in-one-shot-and-remains-the-record-holder that I have been waiting for...

And of course, congratz to one piece for another record broken, and let me say this didn't surprise me one bit...

By the way, on a different note, does anyone know how much of the profit the mangaka actually makes after all is said and done?

(looks at the latest news)

Author of “ONE PIECE”, Oda Eiichiro earns over ¥2 billion a year

Reaching a circulation figure of 200,000,000 copies, Oda Eiichiro’s “ONE PIECE“ has a huge following not only in Japan, but amongst international manga readers as well. So considering its fame, just how much does the “ONE PIECE” author make a year?

On the December 22nd issue of “Shukan Bunshun“, it was reported that Oda Eiichiro annually makes over ¥2 billion (approximately $23,920,584)! According to the magazine, the mangaka earns about ¥1.3 billion from royalties, and ¥750 million from second-party usage fees for the characters.

It’s not easy being the mastermind behind the “Straw Hats Pirates“, but someone’s got to do it! Kudos to Mr. Oda, it’s definitely well-deserved!

Volume 61 pretty much marks the beginning of the latter half of the storyline. Having already made it to Fishman Island which had been in the talks as far as the end of Vol. 45 (maybe even further back with the Arlong story back in Vols. 9-11). The series has pretty much gained tremendous momentum via the re-introduction/reunion of old villains turned (temporary) allies and friends/family. Granted it's a Shounen cliche we haven't seen before, but at the scale Oda does it, it's very refreshing. The escalating war was great and I highly recommend it a read for our ANN reviewers and pretty much anybody who's curious about what the buzz is about.

I don't care what anybody says, One Piece and its mangaka Eiichiro Oda deserve all the praise and money they get. One Piece has been on-going, pretty much non-stop for 13 years straight and its only gotten better each arc, so its understandable why the sales have gotten better as well.

Each new arc I love the Straw Hat Pirates more and more and am completely flabbergasted at the characters, character designs, devil fruits, etc. that the author creates. He is more creative then ever and loads more content into each chapter then any other shounen mangaka I've ever seen.

Its sad that this masterpiece never caught on in America.

Here goes to another 13 amazing years of One Piece Very Happy

It's 10% of each copy. Meaning, Oda earned million dollars in 3 days from that volume alone.

Is this a comic ranking chart or, like, BOOKS ranking?

What I mean to say is, is it grouped with novels and such?

Its just mangas. Novel go somewhere else but i dont know where.

Anyway, yeah i am getting tired too of its record breaking sales. Not hating on one piece though because its good but i want to hear something new about another good series. Not Naruto or bleach though.

The way the Ace storyline wrapped up, followed by the journeys of personal growth for each of the characters, I was really excited where One Piece was going.

Turns out, exactly where it was before, only stronger. I guess I was too hopeful.
