Was the word "Disney" accidentally cropped from the press release title, or is this really what was sent out?

Well, I've had this Nausicaa release pre-ordered for about a week now, and I'm hella excited for that one since it's one of my favorites.
Earthsea, though....eh, maybe sometime down the line. Haven't heard much good things about that one. |

I'm going to bite and get Earthsea. I already got Nausicaa and might get the Blu-ray version when I decide to start a Blu-ray collection.

Maybe it's just me, but when I see a Miyazaki film being released with big name hollywood actors attached to it (Shia LeBeouf, Uma Thurman, Billy Bob Thornton), I just get turned off. I did see Mononoke in NYC with the English dub and it wasn't bad, but obviously when I bought the DVD release, I haven't onced listned to the English audio track.
Question for you fellow ANN posters; Does signing a big name hollywood actor, to do the voice-over intice you to see the film (if a theater run permits) or to purchase the DVD/Blu-Ray or is it just your love of anime that makes you purchase the media and support the artist(s)? |

And I had always watched the english dub on [b]Princess Mononoke[/b DVD, but so many people had said the japanese was better, so when I finally went with the japanese track, I was pretty disappointed. I thought it was considerably....less good(...) than the english one, and I'm not the kind of person who will think something like that just because I'm more familiar with one of them and have listened to it so many times. |

They're not trying to entice anime fans. Anime fans will always buy Studio Ghibli films, particularly Miyazaki's. They're trying to entice the general public to give these films a look since there's actors and actresses there who they know. They want to expand the Ghibli films beyond the anime fen ghetto, just like how Miyazaki would want it (Miyazaki doesn't refer to his films as anime but rather "manga eiga"). |

Nausicaa is a nice first step, but Earthsea is puzzling. It didn't really do that well in Japan, did it? Does it really have an English following?
I'd pay Garden of Sinners money for Mononoke or Spirited Away on Blu-Ray, but it doesn't seem like anyone is in a hurry to make those happen (which makes no sense to me as one is an Oscar winning film, which would seemingly be a big marketing boon). |

It's Ghibli, meaning it did fairly well in Japan. Also, Earthsea was dubbed some time ago. They were unable to release it in the United States until SyFy channel's license for the EarthSea name expired. |

Using Hollywood actors to do voice over work for anime movies doesn't entice me as a rule. However, both Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away had amazing English dubs, so I am more likely now to listen to an English version of a Ghibli film based on a sterling record of good dubs. |

I've been waiting ages for Tales from Earthsea to be released here in America but damn disney for being cheap and not releasing it on blu-ray!
