Holy crap, that's a lot of money. Kind of makes me wonder how much is written into Rumiko Takahashi's will...
Is it general practice for tax offices to reveal how much money is left in someone's will? I always thought that was somewhat of a private matter...

Considering the huge number of classic manga the guy created, (to the point that Imagawa wrote a giant crossover fanfic of his work and called it Giant Robo:lol: ) and considering that most of them have been in continual print in Japan for three or four decades, this is probably more a case of money steadily piling up bit-by-bit. Takahashi has been in the game for far less time than Yokoyama was, but she's sold a TON of mangas (not to mention anime and merchandising) so I wonder if she's managed to surpass him yet.

There's no doubt in my mind that she surpassed him many times over.

I've read somewhere that Takahashi is the, or one of the, richest woman in Japan.

Her annual income tax ranks #1 in Japanese female population.
