it's like Romeo and Juliet with ninjas. basically two families with crazy ninja abilites fight back and forth. there's more going on than that, but that's the gist of things. probably the best ninja anime to be made in awhile{Naruto is not a ninja anime).

having seen the 3 episodes that are out, there was very little focus on the romance aspect recently. More focus on the fighting, and rightfully so. This is some of the best animation in anime fights I've ever seen. Story isn't that great yet though. But really, with fights that good, who really cares?

I'm looking forward to this one myself, as well as Gonzo's other two recent productions Trinity Blood and Speedgrapher. All three of them sound like they'd be quite entertaining.

Trinity Blood looks alright. But I've only seen the one episode that's been subbed. The theme is a lot like Chrno Crusade apparently.
Speed Grapher is amazing. Easily the best series of the season. |

Two thumbs up for Basilisk because of the great fighting and wicked looking characters. It is very similar to Ninja Scroll character wise but overall does not come close to Ninja Scroll ...yet
 . We have to wait till the series is finished to compare it to Ninja Scroll (my second favorite anime film ever).
Trinity Blood is nothing special. I dont understand why people are excited about it. Speed Grapher is cool but the story is confusing and the pacing does not seem right but it could be great later on. Lets wait and see how things will go from now on. Im personally looking for Banner of the Stars 3  .

Basilisk has been pretty awesome so far. I like the character designs and the amazing animation.
