So, does this news and ANN's recent round-table interview mean that C will be on the main site here, as well?
Also, what happened with FUNimation's noitaminA deal from last year? Some shows from the block have been popping up on other sites since Shiki/Kugarehime and neither C nor AnoHana have been announced yet (though there is time). Was the agreement just overstated and was really a "first dibs" sort of thing? |

FUNimation's deal for the noitaminA block is with FCC and for North America only - Kaze has been streaming them in France and it is logical for Siren to do so in Australia now they've launched their streaming service since they have already been releasing noitaminA titles on DVD.
Since FUNimation's agreement the only title from the block to stream elsewhere in the US was Hourou Musuko, which Crunchyroll licensed from Aniplex rather than Fuji. As for the current season we don't know since FUNimation haven't said anything - we won't know till they either do or C turns up somewhere else. If Crunchyroll is to be believed, AnoHana is being licensed internationally by Aniplex rather than FCC, although this doesn't preclude it from being picked up by FUNimation. Now what is interesting in the article is "For the first time in our history of international licensing we have reached an agreement to legally exhibit brand new series via the internet simulcast in six territories outside of Japan – each with complete subtitles." We only know of one of those so far but it would be a fairly safe guess that the others would include the US, UK and France and you can possibly throw in Germany also. |
