The artwork is simply amazing. Not sure if any other mangaka comes close to the detail put in each panal that tanaka draws.

XD Omg, Gon!
I've never met another person who's even heard of Gon. The ultimate example of amazing, stunning artwork (EXCEPT for the title character, who is, forgive my harshless, absolutley f**ked up looking in every sense humanly plausable), but rather dull, repetitive writing. |

Check me out and Me Too
The book itself has no text, it's pure art. Masashi Tanaka spent a lot of time on each panel and they stand out, like the one above. There's so much to understand about the book. It's not for everyone. Also gon in the tekken game did suck if you're fighting against another human. But he had a cheap move, a spin move. I got through the whole tekken force mode with that one move. It's incredibly cheap. |

Gon is simply the baddest mofo on the planet. But seriously, the manga is great. It's a true testament to Tanaka's skill that he can make a story engaging with no text. I don't find it dull at all; his storytelling ability is far supirior to most manga writers, and NO ONE is better at drawing body language.

I liked reading the few volumes of it that I did, except, although Gon is a "badass," he isn't my favorite character. I realize that he is the only consistent character, but I don't like him much. I do agree that the art is great and the fact that the mangaka can write a good story with no words is phenomenal, but I still don't like him. Gon, I mean.

I loved Gon, but only have the first two volumes, the collected edition of Vol 3 & 4 and the Color special, the others have been hard to come by. Dare we hope that dC will reprint it under their CMX imprint?

I had the pleasure of reading the first volume yesterday afternoon. The artwork is very in depth and I enjoyed it although Gon did seem kind of out of place in the whole story. Very enjoyable.
