Good for Miyazaki. I wonder what it would be like for him and Stan Lee to collaborate.

The article didn't mention that Miyazaki was also the only animator on the list, which is weird considering I don't really think Miyazaki was all that influential last year. Spirited Away came out in the US in 2002-2003 and the second DVD wave didn't arrive until this year. Howl's Moving Castle was not even that good of a movie and underperformed at festivals if you consider the caliber of work Miyazaki should be doing. I would think Pixar was more influential last year, what with the release of Incredibles and Nemo gathering such a huge overseas fanbase.

Would anybody be willing to post the complete article of Miyazaki?
I would like to see it, but(probably like most), don't really want to spend the money to create an account there just to read the article.
Thanks.

Miazaki has become an hugely respected and recognised director by both anime fans and movie enthusiasts/critics, where as no one in Pixar has really achieved that recognition on an individual level. Brad Bird has plenty of acclaim for the hugely underappreciated Iron Giant and is becoming more widely know with The Incedibles, but he has no where near the reputation and fame as Miazaki.
Anyways, I'm happy for him. And that certainly would be an odd collaboration to say the least...

That's right, but think about the year 2004. I don't think he was all that influential during that specific year.

John Lasseter! And it doesn't have to be an individual-- Time awarded one of the spots to "The Halo Team."

I can see their reasoning since Halo 2 had nearly Final-Fantasy-"sick-day" results across North America, but it seems unfair to award it to a team of people. Heck, instead of just George Bush (who, no matter what side you're on, definately influenced events), why don't we just say that the entire Bush administration is highly influential?

If you're going to use that argument, than say that PNAC is highly influential.
