This show is better than expected. When I first heard of it I put it on my mental list of shows to avoid, and I probably never would have watched it if not for the unique situation of it being ANNs first simulcast, but now that I have I'm glad I did. I suppose its not its primary purpose, but there is definitely an earnest message about the relationship between people with hobbies that are considered strange or objectionable and the intolerance that "normal" can people express towards them. Oreimo has been a good surprise so far, and I hope it keeps it up.

There often is ambiguous phrasing being used, much as it is in real life, which is open to interpretation. Based upon the reactions of the various characters, some of them seem to have different concepts of the situations. Maybe things will be clarified later.
(By interpretation, I mean having multiple meanings. I'm only referring to the meanings of the English subtitles alone, and not the original language or the act of translation.)

I have a question. Could you translate the names of the characters that pop up in the opening sequence?

Oreimo is quite the interesting series. I usually have a hard time getting into shows with subs, but watching this show I did have the same issues. The sub titles have been excellent and the story has been fairly interesting for me. As I am a slow reader I have had to pause the show quite often to keep up. Great job on this show ANN. Hopefully the remainder of the show will be just as good.

Sorry for the delay, I was away at AnimeUSA this weekend.
Here are the TL notes for ep 6 that just would not fit on screen at all:

Bathing:
In Japan everyone shares the same bath water in a household so order of bathing is generally set in stone.
Any guests get highest honor--the privilege of going first.
Otherwise, head of household goes first, following the hierarchy down to the bottom.
The fact that they don't even offer first to Kyousuke is a sign of how much he is considered a part of their family already.
Likewise, the silly argument over who goes first shows Manami's being considerate.
OP Theme Nico Nico Douga Text:

How often does ANN release new episodes? Sets of 2 at a time and how long after those 2 episodes air in japan?
They call it simulcast but it really isn't since they dont air it the day of the japan release like chrunchyroll does, but the fact that its free means that it shouldn't matter at all, which it doesn't to me. Ok who am I kidding, I'm craving to watch the next episode after watching the current 6, and I haven't had this much anticipation over new episodes since Clannad After Story (And I waited a year after its Green-Lit announcement to watch them)
But Iv greatly enjoyed the show and appreciate how they balance it out quite well in diversity in which it switches the focus on characters often. Iv also never seen such a good sibling focus that didn't involve unnecessary contact in every 5 minutes of the show. You can actually tell they love each other as sibling and not in the way that the incest genres represent it.
