I got strung along -- a few times I thought they were going to make something worthwhile out of their stupid premise, but in 12 episodes they came up with nothing. Even all the underwear shots. Were. Boring.
The one remote thing that was remotely interesting or was a parody of Revolutionary Girl Utena that came out of nowhere. Then it went away. Can anyone else suggest something I missed here? Damn I want those 4 hours back. |

I would suggest not watching anime aimed at school girls or those wishing to learn about things such as bra sizes and fit then. Its main role is as a educational slice of life, not ecchi comedy. |

Chu Bra aired in the wee hours of the night. No schoolgirl is gonna be watching it.
It was just a terrible generic slight ecchi anime with a big panty/bra fetish. |

It's a well known fact all school girls are vampires. And a show like that wouldn't air in the day no matter what the demographic, the budget and content are not something that most channels would give a prime time spot, when most money is made from shows like Haruhi and k-on being prime time. It's like all the tv (not anime) that is uh....'subbed' with sign language is only on after about 2am in my country, but I'm sure deaf people keep pretty normal hours too. |

K-ON!! airs at 2:50 am in Japan. I'm not sure when Haruhi aired, but I would imagine after midnight.

I dropped it after 1 or 2 episodes (I think 1). The character design wasn't appealing, the premise was lame & stupid, the set-up was a school, and the protagonists were young thus making the fanservice useless to me. Everything about it was poor, including the budget.
There are two kinds of crappy anime. The first floats. The second sinks. Cru-Bra is the second. I do think that the much (time) I spent on it was a waste of time. |

I watched this with my 12 year old cousin. She seemed to enjoy it and found it informative.

At least this show tried to hide behind the "informative for girls" excuse. Most lolicon ecchi shows don't even bother going that far.

It's your fault for even starting the show. I never understood the drive for people to finish shows they know are terrible.
This show never showed signs of getting good. The girl would cry about how no one understood her love of panties, but she never understood IT'S FREAKING PANTIES, no one will understand. I've watched a lot of bad shows, but this one takes the cake and shoves their panties in there. |

My favorite show ever is Strike Witches. I collect dakimakura. I'm the sort of fan who fanservice is actually targeted to.
Halfway through the 2nd episode of Chu-bra, I said, "Screw this, this show is stupid" and stopped watching. I haven't gone back since. You can draw your own conclusions from that. |

I watched all 12 episodes of Chu-Bra. It is interesting except that Episode 4 or 5
(I forgot which.) Note that not boring != pervert, and boring != Non-pervert. If you are interested in a pervert show, just don't confuse it with "interesting/boring". In contrast, most of the animes in the 2010 summer season are boring. It is more appealing to more ordinary audience (like little girls) than average otakus. It missed badly when it only got the time slots for late night, not late evening. I guessed it just couldn't get further investments for another season. It was not a waste of time; it was a waste of potential, instead. Like many other mangas that was also inappropriately treated. |

Sometimes shows that look terrible end up being good (like, say, this is subjective but B Gata H Kei turned out hilarious for me even though I abhored it's existence at first). It also makes you seem less like someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. I mean, how does this sound. "I don't like this show...I never saw an episode of it, but I saw the picture of it so I know it sucks." I feel the first 3 episodes (or sometimes 10 minutes) of any show should give an idea of what you're in for. That being said, Chu-Bra is the first anime I've dropped in a year in a half. So yeah. |

Roughly 90% of the time you CAN judge an anime by its cover. If you didn't like the cover, there's a pretty big chance you won't like the show.

I didn't have too much of a problem with it, I even learnt a few things from it that are pretty useless to me, an appreciation for underwear. There was a bit too much fanservice, especially of younger characters, was kind of crony at times, but I found it interesting enough to watch it.
Well people's tastes in anime are different, you might have thought that this was a waste of time, but for example I found Tatamari Galaxy and Five Leaves really boreing. |

I actually have more respect for the shows that don't bother with any excuses and just shamelessly go all out. Girls Bravo and Ladies vs Butlers for example: they didn't make any excuses for themselves, and they were the better for it. If you want to be ecchi, then just be ecchi, don't try and justify it with some BS "educational" facade. I got about halfway through Chu-bra and I really shouldn't have even given it that much of a chance. It got more and more lame each episode and its attempt to be "educational" (I don't buy that) while still showcasing junior-high-bums was just completely uneven; almost like if they added a sex-ed commentary to a porno-flick. Just doesn't work... |
